The MPAA finally realized that, if they want to be taken seriously, they should at the very least use the right legal terms.

CEO of the MPAA said:
We're going to have to be more subtle and consumer-oriented. We're on the wrong track if we describe this as thievery.

Of course, he's not alone in trying to push the new stance.

Copyright expert and senior legal manager at PWC said:
When copying copyright protected materials that belong to somebody else, the person owning the material is not deprived of ownership [...]
Lance Michalson said:
It is the infringement of intellectual property rights [...]

But uh yeah, it's good to hear them admit it.

After fighting piracy so fervently on the grounds that piracy is theft, and suddenly admitting otherwise?

They have finally figured it all out.

Regardless, Chris Dodd and everyone else at the MPAA and the RIAA too, can shove it up their asses, they are just a bunch of Nazi's out to make petty crimes look like a threat to national security or something. Wouldn't mind punching those tards in the face.

To be fair, even if it isn't physical it is money that they could have had in exchange for their product...

But yeah, woo and such.

This definition defines the very reason I don'tt want N to go totally download. It keeps them from giving us something, that we would have recieved before, the cartridge. We / well I bought cartridge AND game , not just the game. I want them both or drop the price drastically.. Basically Nintendo will be ripping US off by selling the games at the old price but by DEPRIVING us of the cartidge. THAT's Theft. That road travels both driections Nintendo. If you wanted thier definitions before you must stand by them now too N.

He who lives by the (s)word also dies by the (s)word. lol

of course piracy isn't theft were you know like trying out the stuff we download and we'll probably buy it ( :creep:) later on

It's funny that anyone thinks that.

I'm sorry but as a pirate I still acknowledge I hurt the industry. For every movie you pirate and watch, how many do you actually buy? I've pirated plenty of great films and I haven't bought them. For every great game that you pirate, how many do you buy? I mean I haven't bought a Wii game since like 2010, exception being Goldeneye 007 which was on sale for $10. But all the great Wii games since then, from No More Heroes 2 (which I pre-ordered) to now have not gotten a single purchase from me. Not because I thought they were "bad", but because I won't waste money on a game I already can play/played.

But on the topic, it's just a definition, it doesn't make the process of pirating any better or worse. "Theft" and words relating to it just sound better for PSAs than "copyright infringement".
