So, first I need to give some backstory. I just bought my V1 unpatched switch that came with SXOS installed in it and, as the SXOS is basically obsolete now. Many people advised me to switch to atmosphere but I'm having a lot of trouble doing this proccess. My switch is currently running in 10.2.0 version and, everytime I try to go into rcm mode and install atmosphere my switch just boots up like normal into sxos. Keep in mind that this is my first experience with a Nintendo Switch or with hacking it so, I'm just a complete noob in this aspect.

It's so coincidental that I am having the same firmware version 10.2.0 as you do! However mine was the Mariko patched switch with SXOS Core, so I don't have to do RCM, or should I say couldn't do since it was 'patched'. I recently wrote a post storytelling my migration from SXOS and it might help you to understand the current status of the CFW scene https://github.com/dsync89/Ultimate-Guide-to-Migrate-SXOS-SX-Core-to-Atmosphere.

In your case, did you inject the hekate_ctcaer_5.5.6.bin payload while you were in RCM mode? I would suggest injecting hekate payload, and not fusee_primary from atmosphere, since you might want to do a lot of stuffs there, e.g. backup NAND, create or migrate emuMMC (From SXOS). That would be the first entry to everything that is to come.

Well you do not "install" Atmosphere, you just launch into it like SX OS. Anyway, you can try following this guide on how to switch from SX OS to Atmosphere.
