Most basic install for hacks?

Hey! Haven't posted in a while.

With the 3DS's life coming to an end soon, I thought it would be the best time to hack my 3DS after keeping it stock for so long due to a PREVIOUS hack that was installed on it before I bought it (long story) with a bit of a caveat (i see as one anyways)
I like the idea the one I'm about to hack being a near stock experience; I'll most likely only use it to rip digital games on there anyways. No custom themes, no homebrew CIAs, just only GodMode9 and maybe mods (if possible).

Is there a way to install only GodMode9 without the extra stuff added in? Something akin to SD Setup for Nintendo Switch hacks? If I have to do it manually or in a roundabout way, then that's fine too.

Just install b9s+luma and run homebrew in .3dsx format from rosalina. That's how i do it since i don't like homebrew taking space in my home screen, only games and system apps are there.

Most important homebrew should have a .3dsx option.

Well, you'd need fbi and HBL to be on the home menu. Unless you're comfortable on using switching the DP to Rosalina Menu each time you want to load a .3dsx file..

You don't need FBI and the HBL placeholder app. FBI works just fine as .3dsx. To launch hb open the Download Play app, open Rosalina and set the current app as target for loading the hb menu. Then save the settings within Rosalina and the hb menu will appear each time you open the Download Play app. By saving the settings this will work even after reboots.
