Well, already tried reformatting both using the Panasonic SD Formatter. I've converted a new music files fresh from my lossless music. It played immediately in Moonshell 2 just as soon as I chose the music file. But here's where it gets worse. I add 50 mp3s then test it. After that, I add another 50 test it, so on, until it has reached 623. What I observed is that Moonshell 2 takes up more time to start up a music file the more music files are within its playlist.

Is this normal? I mean, 1.71 handled almost 600 music files just fine as it instantly plays the music file I choose while 2.05 lags up when I choose one within its 600.

Am I doing something wrong? I liked the control layout for 2.05 (lets me just double press the L o R for next/previous track than 1.71's which makes me have to use my pinky finger and my thumb for L and R

) so if possible, I'd use 2.05 happily without the issue I'm currently facing.

Oh, and on a semi-related note, how's the playback performance for AAC on Moonshell? Does it play as smooth as mp3s?

Well, I have no idea how to help you out on your problems lol. The only thing I can suggest is to put the music files in folders. It seems that moonshell 2 can't browse through all of them fast enough as one folder. (I only tested it with 200 or so songs since I have a 2gb microsd).
And I don't know how to play aac files on moonshell 2 (maybe mine are encrypted o.0)

I can't find the soft reset file for the m3 real, can anyone give me a dl link or something.

@Ultralex: I haven't seen a soft-reset for the M3 (I checked the thread that had most if not all of the ones out there, but the M3 adapter wasn't listed).

@Pachura: Its possible, just tap the bottom bar and the screen should fade dark (though don't press the icons on either side of the bottom because they do other things instead of turning off the backlight).

I am also experiencing issues with moonshel 2.05 stable. I use a 8gb kingston Japan micro sdhc card. Whenever i want to skip a song or when a song finishes and goes on to the next, there is a bit of annoying stuttering until the next song plays. i do not have this issue with M3 Sakura 1.42 but i do not like the way L/R button is used to skip in Sakura. i used lmp ng 1.02 stable and it works well without stutter but i do not like searching through 400 songs with lmp ng. moonshell 2 used to work well with my 2 gb micro sd card but ever since i have the 8gb, this issue is present with moonshell 2. i was wondering if it might be the album art feature causing this slow down. is there a way to use 2.05 stable without album art turned on? Moonshell 2 would rock if it wasn't for this annoying issue.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S: tried formatting and tried only a couple of songs aswell (put songs in different folders too). still same issue. can moonshell 2 not handle 8 gb micro sdhc?

maybe this is redundant but has anyone else had issues with 8 gb micro sd card and moonshell 2.05. when skipping tracks!! (stuttering before playing next track)

and thanks jurassicplayer for the album art answer.

just wondering, but how many songs (roughly) do you have on your DS? because it might be the same thing as the problem a couple of posts above (Chevreuse's problem) and that would mean we have no solution for it (at least I don't).

i have 507 songs. they are organised in many different folders according to albums. but this issue is not present in sakura firmware. only present in moonshell 2. thanks for all your help jurrasicplayer. appreciate it. I will wait for another release maybe issue will be fixed.

i saw a line in moonshl 2.ini which talks about cluster size:
[DiskAdapter]
; SlowDiskAccess: '64kbyte cluster FAT disk' demands 1.
SlowDiskAccess=0

maybe i need to put 1 to make it work well. i will give results when this is tried.

thnaks

I can't seem to get Moonshell 2.05 working for the SC Lite. I've tried DLDI patching and reformatting my SD card but nothing. It says something about "Quick DiskCHeck initiated./Checking for duplicate clusters & fragments/Checking FAT type/Performing disk read/write test." Help, I've looked everywhere and googled everything.

Well its possible that the problem is because of your SD if its an SDHC (I had to search for some information xD), in which case, you would have to use this dldi patch:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mzgdo0mgjyj

And here is the place I got it from:
http://forum.supercard.sc/thread-4368-1-1.html

Otherwise, the only other options I can think of is maybe turn off the diskcheck (you can find how to do that somewhere here I believe) or just ask the people on the supercard forum (place I got my information from).
I hope you get it working.

After you reformat your card put back all your files then..
press START to open SustemMenu, tap GUI/mp3 Settings.
uncheck DiskCheck, tap Apply button at the bottom screen. isn't that easy?

& try exploring other features of moonshell2, mmk
Only thing I could find on how to turn off the disk check. I got lost at the second line. >.>

i downloaded moonshell2.05 and put it on the root of micro sd card and when i try palying on the moonshell2.nds it says go to moonshell_directboot.nds and then on that it says "nds file version of starting moonshell2" and "files of installed moonshl2 folder" are diffrent.
it also says "please confirm wheter to have copied a new moonshl2 folder.it is impossible when arranging it besides the root of sd card.

so what do i have to do?

Just making sure, but you did use the autoDLDIPatch that came with Moonshell2 right (in the misctools folder)? Really you only need the moonshl2 folder and the DLDI patched .nds file (or the directboot_moonshl2.nds if there isn't a DLDI patch for it, I think) both in the root.

Is it possible on moonshell 2 to keep the song playing at the DS' speakers when the lid is closed?

I have tried to check the moonshl.ini but did not find anything alike.

At the FAQ did not say anything, nor at the guide or Tips and Tricks.
I have used the search but nothing came out.

Thanks jurassicplayer for the link, that should be at the FAQ or something.
