both MH3U and MH4U run on variable framerates and looks beautifully smooth, and meanwhile MHX took the peasant route of 30FPS lock.

is this possible? MHX would most likely look better without that cap.

not sure if it's as simple as making a cheat for it. framerate shouldn't be in the game variables at all, unless i'm wrong.
Yeah, the frame rate obviously isn't a value stored in memory, I guess the cap might be though? I have no idea how in hell to find it if that's the case. Regardless, It'd be amazing if we could find a way to unlock framerates for games so the New 3DS could be made even more useful. A lot of games, including Luigi's Mansion 2 and MGS3D lock the frame rate as well.

If the fps cap changes you might be able to make a cheat that sets it to always be 60.
Maybe you could edit the code.bin to unlock the fps?

No idea, would be awesome though. We should wait and hope someone more qualified responds :P

I'd also be highly interested in this. I loaded up the executable in IDA a while ago and stumbled across mMaxFps & mBaseFps tags, but unfortunatley I know jackshit about RE so I'll just leave this here for somebody more qualified to look into this.
I just hope they haven't tied the game mechanics to framerate (which would result in double speed on 60fps i.e.)... I know they did this for the PSP games <_<

this is nice idea.
how can i search code? ntr debbuger is useful to search code?
I know there is cheat plugin for ntr but I donnno how the plugin is created.
anyway Im.going to google about ntr cheat plugin and try this.

I have 10 years code search experience. but i donno this is possible for me or not. I think I need nuch time to do this. lol

Wow, I wasn't aware that mhx was capped at 30 fps! I probably don't know what i'm talking about, but wouldn't decrypting the .cia allow for snooping around in a file config that sets the cap? It may not even be possible because iirc someone tried to remove the cap on mgs and didn't get very far. *shrug*

Can you show me a screenshot of IDA with the 3ds executable?
