Do you have any measures to take for a possible brick? I don't know. It's your decision but make sure to have some anti brick methods just in case

Alright try to delete any previous accounts you've made in the Wii Shop Channel and make a new one entirely Japanese.

Well I would but I just get this error.
EDIT: Removed shop account, obviously would have lost everything if I had anything. Seems to be working but rather slowly.

Yes I'm in!

annnddd connection lost after about 2 minutes in a lobby.

Carnivean: So it works and you can join servers and all right? Can you confirm this please? Also did you have to update like TheGreatNeko says?

Used WiiSCU to install all IOS without trucha and update my wii shop channel.
I changed my region to japanese, leaving my shop as my native region and deleted my account (losing all channels, in my case internet while free.)
I entered the shop channel and made an account.
I connected to the game which saw my account and my 0 wii points.
After some trial and error I ended up with a working in game account.

I joined a random empty lobby, and promptly lost connection.

EDIT: I lol'd

Indeed. Nice find. So every game you've tried to join has been a failure?

No actually I'm in an online game now, solo though. I don't want to anger the Japanese overlords and get a complain filed, I'll wait for more english speakers to actually work with to get online.

Have you heard of MineGarde? They have their own board where English speakers can play together. Check out their guide to reach their server Here You'll have to make an account though(free)

WARNING! THIS GUIDE/FAQ IS MEANT FOR THE USE OF THOSE WITH LEGIT COPIES OF MONSTER HUNTER 3 ONLY! ALSO: IN CASE YOUR WII FREEZES, JUST HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL THE LIGHT IS RED! NOT ORANGE! NONE OF WHAT IS BELOW SHOULD BRICK YOUR WII UNLESS YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE STEPS EXACTLY AS SHOWN!

Hoping that all of you understood what was mentioned above, let us begin:

Q: My game freezes when I want to start the game, but a loud buzzing sound comes up! Whats wrong!?

A: Well this is only caused by 2 things actually and those are the cIOS you are using along with the App. The cIOS required by Monster Hunter 3 is 55. But the original cIOS 55 isn't compatible with newer titles, so you will need the cIOS55BugFix WAD. You will also need SoftChip R99 later to run the game WITH cios55BugFix because only those experiencing the glitch MUST have the Wad Manager in the first place, there is no need to create steps, or explain how to install the WAD.

Q: My game freezes during the character customization whenever I want to change my name and there are no cIOS that fix this! HELP!?

A: This seems to be the biggest problem with people playing Monster Hunter 3 that DONT have Japanese Wiis.... Due to the font and structure differences of the USA/EU/AU Wii virtual keyboard, and Japanese MH3 virtual keyboard, the Wii freezes....
And no, it doesn't unfreeze trust me. To fix this, you must download the Any Region Changer (copy the folder inside to your apps folder AS SHOWN! DONT CHANGE ANYHING!), you should also follow this video, but replace Europe with JapanAny Region Changer Guide (FOLLOW SAME STEPS BUT USE JAPAN INSTEAD OF EUROPE!)

After you have followed the video and your Wii is looking 100% Japanese (Start Screen, Menu, Even icons), select the SoftChip R99 channel you installed before changing your region and when it loads you will be greeted with a few options you can select to Enable and Disable, follow this!
Game's Language: Japanese
Patch Country Strings: Disabled
Autoboot: Disabled
Silent: Disabled
Logging: Disabled
Remove 002 Protection: Enabled
Fake IOS Version: Disabled:
Load Requested IOS: Enabled
Then Press A

Once you start Monster Hunter 3, create your character and name, as well as any other characters you may be using because after this step, its back to the freezes everytime you want to make one! Once you make your character(s) head straight to your bed at home and save the game. Then press the HOME button and go back to the Any Region Changer doing exactly what you did before, but using USA instead of Japan.

Q: Why is the opening video and cutscene so laggy? Or the sound is off?
A: Unknown, but I did notice improvements when I was in Japanese Wii mode

FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE OR GETTING ERRORS WHO AREN'T ON 3.2 FIRMWARE, CLICK HERE AND FOLLOW THIS GUIDE! THEN DO EVERYTHING ABOVE OVER AGAIN!

If you don't plan on playing online, just load it with the latest Gecko instead of bothering with changing your entire system's region.

Wii saves are encrypted with keys unique to each Wii, so patching them isn't a possibility. Even with the proper tools, I tried several methods and couldn't get MH3 to take name-edited saves.

The latest Gecko OS? I am going to give that a try..i have a different channel, i can't remember the name, Gamma maybe? I will try the Gecko..
I hope this helps

I really doubt that any method of loading the game would not allow you to go online. But we can confirm so far is that your Wii has to have the Japanese region code

I've tried going online using the Monster Hunter G method, and I can't seem to get on. Everything seems to work fine, but when I try to go online, it simply loads back to the Single/Network select screen.

Not really sure what the problem is, I've activated my 20 day trial and everything. Guess that was a waste.

EDIT: Apparently, this problem only occurs with USB Loaders. Unfortunately, my Wii is unable to read discs. Is there anyway to get online on USB at all?

Ah finally!

installed hermes 223 36/37, set USB Loader GX to Japanese/force NTSC/002 fix/CIOS 223....voila!

Now if I can just figure out what it is you're supposed to do in the game...... ;-)

setup:
PAL 4.1E, CIOS 14, Hermes 223 36/37, USB Loader GX settings:Japanese/force NTSC/002fix/IOS 223, Classic Controller

I'm kinda confused reading those posts :/. Basically, I have one question: is it possible to play Monster Hunter 3 (burned on DVD-R) via Backup Launcher/SoftChipR99, without any USB-based loader and without changing my Wii's region? I have installed the newest cIOS rev 14, Hermes 223 36/37 and 55fixed. Or the only option is to wait for USA release (if there be any...)? Few posts earlier, mothball in theory give answer to my question, but running MH3 via Gecko192 doesn't work because... it doesn't see DVD in Wii :/. And I don't know why. Waiting for reply

think it will be less work and wait for MH3 to come for PAL and NTSC
unless its only coming out vin japan :/

Thanks for reply UnseenHero, I also think that it'll be better, at least for me, to wait for English version. I tried everything I could and still nothing. Eh, bad luck

EDIT

Sorry for double post, my Opera is going crazy again :/. I'll change it to Firefox...
