Gaming Monster Hunter Tri Help

Hi guys.
I have been searching around the net, but I cant figure out where to get a torch. I need one to complete the initial/tutorial quests. Specifically the one where you have to get Iron ore from area 4, but its too dark to find the mining seam.

Try looking around at the first gate after leaving the town. There's one on one of its sides.
