How did you try the anjanath genes you said are not working?

the sequence of the genes is logical. If you find "X Gene (S)" it will logically be followed in the ID system by M, L, XL.

that part is known.

try the L and XL
it's in the game but the Passive mean nothing

Load up your save file in the editor.

Browse Gene tab. load up your monster and the monster's genes will be indicated in the right side top to bottom. consider them as genes 1 to 9 (top to bottom). in your switch's MHS2 game the genes are arranged in a 3x3 colum and rows. gene no. 1 is the top left, three is the top right. 5 is the center, 7 is bottom left, etc.

you can now reassign genes or open gene slots as you wish. see the googlesheet i mentioned a couple of posts back for reference as the editor only allows you to edit the ID, example, 277 which when you look in at the googlesheet is for the One-shot attack gene (M)

Updated full Gene List in the Chart - 100% work with current version 1.1.0 game
No named Genes mean no skill inside and you can add in the game. it's worthless

Thanks for the great work you guys are doing on the editor, much appreciated! I just have a quick question, how does the egg function work? What is it you have to put in the ID field to get the specific egg from the table? I see there's a few fields in the egg part of the spreadsheet. Can't seem to get any of the ID's to stick. Is there something I'm missing with how you enter the ID's? Thanks again!

i have no idea how the Egg work right now, cuz it's doesnt show any egg i'm having, waiting for turtle to expland

Hmmm, that's weird, I did edit my genes accordingly, everything went well even with coop. I did not go crazy with it tho like giving my Nergigante some weird genes.

i think the only limit is to not assign more than once the same gene to a monster. am i wrong? any monster can get any gene right?

so i tested the genes your can upgrade the one you have already and play online if you give them all new genes the online wont let you play

Because I didn't like to look for IDs in the chart I added the gene list to the editor.

If you want to select your genes based on names and don't want to wait until it is part of the main release, you can use my temporary version: https://github.com/p-eis/MonsterHunterStories2/releases/tag/0.17.2

I added in the game the crit xl gene but I see that it has not any description in game (if I press Y) differently from crit L. Maybe is not legit yet?

No but did catch a video of one showing off a hatched one's initial Genes,

thats Water Breath L in slot 6 Bubble Flurry in 8 and Water Breath M in 9. i dont know what Gene ID is "Unlocking" & a Level but a open gene slot is 7
