I'm expecting a "screw you, Capcom, you better localize this right now" rage comment very soon. In all seriousness it is bound to increase Japanese sales at least a bit.

i REALLY hope they do, i have barely used my vita lately and me and my buds just started playing a translated version of 3rd on our old PSPs. This got me super excited until i realized its the MMO one we will likely never see anyways (nor like 3rd can it just be translated for us to grab later when the system is hacked)

Good news for the vitas sales I assume.

Though intelligent gamers will already have Soul Sacrifice which is infinitely better with a similar feel (just more refined, indepth, thought out, and properly executed).
    So, 0 interest for me.

Another Hunting title for the large collection of portable Hunting games on the Vita, it will sell at least modestly, I'm content with Toukiden over this and Soul Sacrifice is also a better option.

It's as if some of the people posting here forgot what "Monster Hunter 4" caused in Japan lately. People will queue to got this game and many players will buy a PSVita just for it, even if it's just an enhanced port for two reasons - the XBox didn't exist in Japan, it never reached the popularity of other systems and was never a relevant platform would be reason #1, reason #2 being that Japan is hugely keen on mobile gaming and they will choose this version over the home console equivalent. Even if the gamedoes not make its way off-shore, it will still be a masive boost for the PSVita in Asia.

So.... not being a debbie downer. I doubt it'll sell as much as MH4 or even close to it.

First... Monster hunter 4 just came out. New weapons and gameplay, then again it looks like Frontier G has new moves.... But dat Charge axe / insect staff.

2nd.... Its been out for PC for years there hasn't it? Most ppl with interest probably already played it.

3rd... There is already another monster hunter MMO coming out... That looks way better. I think its in China first though.

All I'd love is equal monster hunter grounds and timely releases not 4 games going on at once. oh and id love to be able to understand japanese too. We can all dream.

Got this from a poster on IGN,

    - In the 6 years this game has been out its lifetime
    sales are less than 200k.
    - Its a microtransaction riddled game with severely outdated Gen 2
mechanics and have not/will not be updated to Gen 3/4 standards.
    - You literally will end up paying real life money just to get decent
    drops from monsters.
    - IT IS A paid subscription MMO, - Press release stated Vita isn't getting world C, Whatever that is. (Apparently its just a server)

    - Its Online Only AND IP blocks anyone outside of Japan, so importers
    are effectively out of luck.

if all these stand in the ps3, vita and Wii U version.... its going to be a pitiful. Its really not what the Vita needs. Especially since its online only. They pretty much just fcked the vita again. Oh yeah its portable.... unless you don't have infinite wifi. Idk what sony was thinking agreeing to have this on it. I would love Monster Hunter on the Vita but this is shit.
Im sure after this capcom will be saying oh we tried and there was no market on the vita/ps3. Oh well.

Have fun blowing that 68 mil you just made from MH4 Capcom.

Again, this is a portable game on a Japanese system and this matters. It was out on PC, yes, it was out on the XBox 360, yes, but Japanese gamers are not huge PC gamers nor do they particularily fancy Microsoft, and with good reasons.

The fact that it sold poorly earlier means that there is a wide audience who hasn't tried it yet and now they can have it on a Japanese system and a portable one at that, both being the prefered options in Japan.

As far as the enhnced port aspect is concerned, this hardly stopped "Monster Hunter Tri G" from selling respectably and although that's a remake, it is largely the same game as "Monster Hunter Tri".

Except the portable requires you to act like a home console with constant connection. Since its an online game. Unless they plan to add an offline mode. Which i highly doubt.... Since its an MMO and thats the core concept of MMOs... Online.

Since its a port i doubt they'll change basic functions. I guess they can meet up at starbucks and play monster hunter -_-. Sounds tedious.

Theyre probably aiming for it to be played on the PS Vita TV. In that case it makes perfect sense.... Since sony said no plans of Vita TV for USA yet and Vita TV is a home console so Wifi wont be a problem. Game still looks stupid to be released now. Doubt itll sell much but im ready to bite my tongue when it does lol.

Finding a Hotspot in Japan is ridiculously easy and nothing like in the west where such spots are scarce, this is hardly an issue.

Yeah. The Vita TV will probably make it sell like hotcakes still tho.
Also im sure they'll probably just be playing MH4 in those hotspots lol.
I guess its looking good for them if they dont mind the age/ gameplay/ and subscription/ microtransactions.
Me it wouldnt feel like the good old monster hunters i've played.

Guess they might have actually thought things out well for the market they're going to.
Furthers the fact that we aint getting sh't over here in the west tho :glare:

IIRC, Frontier isn't really liked in Japan as everyone prefers the main series.

I understand that the teaser trailer was made in an early development stage but.... DAMN HELL!! It looks very inferior compared to the 3DS, even the 3D models have no shadowing effect in the ground!! Geez Capcom, if you want to appeal on Vita, first made the teaser trailer at least better. I hope this isn't a conspirancy against Sonny from part of Capcom and the BIG amount of money they are getting from Nintendo and their 3DS releases, just look at the MH4 sales O-O
