I love online on this game i play it more than i do offline i think i am going to buy the special keyboard for the game

This game is infuriating - I'm trying to keep my language clean here.

Whenever I weaken the giant jaggi, trap it, hit it with trank bombs, it gets free and runs off. I nearly put my foot through the TV, I've been trying to catch that beast for over an hour (today) and I'm almost at the 'never play the game again' stage of abject fury.

RAAAAAGH!

The trank bombs, they do nothing. Do you need to throw them right down his throat?

If I weaken him enough to limp, he limps off and comes back as fresh as a daisy. The traps last for seconds. How do you know when you've captured it?

AAAAAGH! So annoyed!

Beat the Giant Jaggi down until it goes off and you find it asleep, while it's asleep place your trap under it and switch to your tranq. bombs.
Now smack it to wake it up and when it falls in the trap throw 2 (make sure you throw 2) tranq. bombs at it.

if you don't get mission complete after that then there's something seriously wrong.

I was playing online earlier today was great fun completely slaughtered some Great Jaggi, Qurupeco and Royal Ludroth got upto Barroth before I had to quite for the night

it is annoying that i can not play yet
offline i still havent beaten a Qurupeco but online i beat a R Ludroth and i am hopefully gonna keep on fighting higher monsters online. I really want to get my icicle spear but need to kill barioth thing. Lol i got a hammer and i dislike it. Only using it online because it is harder. But SnS is to beast for me. I got 3 different Sword and Shield weapons. But people online tell me to use a hammer if they want me to go hunting stronger monsters with them

but i need the materials

Really O.o then play with better people haha, I've played with sword and shield (offline) for most of the game went all the way up and killed Royal Ludroth with the Assassin Kalinga (Sword and Shield) but now I've kinda moved on and I'm favouring the Bone Axe+ (Switch Axe) and I'll probably go onto Longsword after that

I really want to upgrade my Bone Axe+ but I need Lagiacrus stuff to do it

and Barioth stuff to upgrade my Sword and Shield

Reinstall CIOS 249 v19, but use IOS 37 as the base.

Didn't work, still getting the same error... Anyone know what ports need to be open to play online?

Oh well, time to capture a Royal Ludroth...

I killed the Royal Ludroth with the Bone Axe+. Can't help more than that since I don't yet know the other weapons well... ^^'

Anyway, finally captured that son of a *****. Missed the darts 2 times with the R. Ludroth. >.<

Let's see if that Barroth is so hard as you describe it.

Meh, still making preparations, aka, gathering [herbs], [blue mushrooms] and [honey] for Mega Potions.

EDIT: Hmm, I guess I'm going to kill R. Ludroth one more time so I can get the full set of armor.

Instead of hitting "R" to block attack, in the Switch Axe "R" makes the weapon switch. (I'm using the Classic Controler)

OMG, that thing was hard, Barroth was hard, literally. And no wonder, it's the first 4 stars monster you encounter.
Took me around 40-45min to finish him off, but I did it! It really gives me a sense of achievement to kill something like that! ^^

I think I'm done for tonight, I'm tired after 40min straight playing against the same monster! O_O

Switch axe is good. I beat the royal ludroth using the one you can make online without upgrading it.
