ROM Hack Question mods on sxos 1.3/1.4 (breath of the wild)

Cannot get this to work. I've seen many tutorials and have followed so many but no success. I do have a low firmware (1.0) and am using split xci files on a fat32 sd card. Currently am using 1.4 sxos (as layered was removed if I was informed correctly post this release). Does the format of the sd card or firmware have anything to do with mods not running? any help or suggestions or guidance is greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly sure you need sx os 2.0.

2.0 doesn't work below 3.0 firmware
