Hey Erik:

How come instructions for downloading latest mod files have been removed?

Thanks,

Pyrate

Actually, it is like it has always been... You have to send an email to get the links... Or did you mean something else?

I have a factory new Wii and want to use this guide.

"Next, go to the Letterbomb site, select your region, type in the MAC Address you copied above, uncheck Bundle the HackMii Installer for Me, fill in the captcha and cut either wire."

Uncheck? So the HackMii-Installer will not be included in the Letterbomb download? is this right? How can it be installed then:

"Click on the envelope with the pinkish Bomb looking thingy.
This runs the Hackmii Installer from which you should install the Homebrew Channel & Bootmii as IOS & boot2 if possible."

Read the steps before and after that

Yes it is right. Or, try it, then when it works you will be amazed because it didn't make sense to you

Is this the same thing as the Wii Mod batch they are talking about in the OP? It's all I could find, http://gbatemp.net/t272321-wii-mod-v1-0?

No, you have to follow the instructions to get the file packs. We can't post them here...

-Erik
So what is Wii Mod batch?? And where can the source be found?? I don't mind Wii Mod being packaged into guides like this but it is open source and so the source code must be made available.

It is simply Wii Mod modified to be a batch wad installer
smile.gif
It can be found under tools in the modify any wii folder, along with all the other modded apps I use

Edit: Ooops, looks like I forgot to replace the 2.8 version with the 2.9 version. My apologies

It is there now.

Ah there it is. I really don't think it's that difficult to tell the user to select wad manager and then press 1 but whatever that's the point of open source. Btw if you would like any changes to be added to Wii Mod let me know over in the thread, I am always working to improve it.

I had actually asked you to implement a batch option before (for this guide actually) and you said no

It is really an amazing app, and we (the community) are extremely lucky to have someone who puts as much effort into their work as you
smile.gif
If I can think of any ideas, I'll let you know.

BTW, thanks again for adding the error codes in case the wad install fails

QUOTE(JoostinOnline @ Sep 26 2011, 09:14 PM) Batch install has always been part of it, lol.
I think you two might be talking about different definitions of batch install(apples and oranges). Joostin is right in that even in Wii Mod 1.0 there has been a way to install multiple wads at once(batch install) by either selecting them individually with + or just pressing 1 and installing all the wads in a folder(although there may have been bugs that I have resolved over the lifecycle of Wii Mod). I think burritoboy9984 you are talking about a different definition and that's what Wii Mod Batch does. I can't remember that particular request but if I turned it down it was likely because you were asking for it to automatically at startup just installing all the wads in a particular folder(like what Wii Mod Batch does). I often turn down ideas for Wii Mod that are very specific like that preferring to enhance Wii Mod with more features instead of trying to solve one very specific task. I could be wrong, though I would have to go through the pages of the Wii Mod thread to be sure but I'm sure you could much more easily just tell me what you wanted/possibly still want(and Wii Mod Batch may already be doing just that). In the end that's the great thing about open source we all have different ideas of what we want and we are all free to make that idea a reality. I'm also glad you like Wii Mod so much and happy to hear you appreciate the work I put into it, it's people like you(Joostin I'm not forgetting about you here too
smile.gif
) that give me motivation to keep working on it.

I meant I had asked for an option in the config file, where if a certain argument was used, it would automatically install the wads from a specified folder.

I kind of answered it above. I think I actually pm'd you come to think about it. It wasn't just about batch install, it was about patching 236, reloading into 236 and then batch installing automatically. Regardless, it isn't a big deal. Since the ahbprot bug is fixed, both get done at the same time

Hi All,

I have firmware 4.3u installed. Homebrew was installed via letterbomb.

My problem: When I try to run the "Wad Batch Installer" i get:

QUOTE said:
28 titles succeeded and 2 failed...
Some operations failed
IOS70-64-v6687.wad error -1035
System Menu-NUS-v481.wad error -1035
Restarting Wii....

I had done letterbomb through a different guide 2 days earlier, I doubt that makes a differance. I tried deleting the WAD folder from the SD card, and then putting it back on, but that didn't work.

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Gabe

EDIT:

I was using the wrong part of the guide, for people who had < 4.2... i was supposed to download mod.zip.. WOOPS!

Yikes. Well here's where I'm at:

I wasn't paying attention when I was following the guide and downloaded the files for a 4.2 Firmware. Once I had realized what I was doing wrong, i tried to use the batch installer that came with mod.zip (for the 4.3) but 20 errors came up, so I deleted HBC, formatted the wii, formatted the SD card, and started from the beginning.

When I try to do the letter bomb hack, which worked fine for me before, I get the following:
Code:
Cleaning up your environment.... OK.
SD card detected
Opening boot.elf:
boot.elf not found (-1), trying boot.dol
boot.dol not found (-1)
USBGecko not found
No code found to load, hanging.

I reformatted the wii again, downloaded some titles in the shop channel, and opened up wii resort once before trying again, and I got the same thing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

u should have the boot.elf from the hackmii installer saved to the root of your sd card (ie. SD:\boot.elf), it looks like it's missing.

I'm pretty sure that's included in this guides *zip that u downloaded. But it can always be downloaded from here (http://bootmii.org/download/) or from ModMii.
