Seems Trucha is the issue.

Running the TBR again and came up with this when downgrading the IOS

Error: ES_AddTitleFinish returned -1017
Error: Could not set revision to 0
Downgrade failed
Press any button to exit...

MMM Sees the following IOS's highlighted in yellow

4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 28, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 41, 50, 51, 53, 55, 56, 57, 58, 60, 61, 70, 80, 222, 223, 249, 250, 254

mmmconfig.txt has it load /wad/mod as the default folder... make sure you copy all the files over and the guide WILL work.

The reason I asked is because we were able to install Priiloader but using IOS36. Priiloader doesn't seem to load the new HomeBrew Channel when I select Priiloader though.

Also, Wiiflow (both IOS 249 or IOS 222 versions) doesn't seem to load. just got a blank screen.

Priiloader hasn't been updated for the new hbc channel id YET. Once it is, all will be fine as far as that goes...

In regards to wiiflow, it hasn't been updated to work with cios rev20, so you would need to use a compatible loader...

So I checked and saw the file in the zip should be:

QUOTE said:
AutoLoadIOS=36
FatDevice=sd
StartupPath=/wad/mod

But when I open the sd card version and it says:

QUOTE
??????????????????
??????

So it was a corrupted file.

So the link I posted in the past post seems to be revision 17. And that worked. Thanks for the help Erik.

get the following error when trying to patch ios36

ERROR: ES_AddTitleStart (-1035)
error setting verion to 0
ERROR (-1035): Downgrading

this is whilst it's trying to downgrade ios15 to v257

i am getting the same error has chop got, i have just updated from 3.2e to 4.2e following the soft mod guide on page 1. his solution was to load another IOS whilst in [MMM].

he said he loaded 249, thing is i dont have 249. should i have it? do i need to get it?

i have various IOS's upto 70 and then 254, should i use 254? 70? or do i need 249?

on a side note the IOS ive just installed was named
'IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad'
does this mean the IOS has already had the trucha patching and other things applied and i dont need to do the above?

thanks in advance

oops thanks, totally glanced over it looking for replies to chop. getting the fix now and will try

ghost, this is a previously modded wii?

First attempt that I know of. Just bought from a Pawn Shop. The Wii had 4.3u when I got it so I assumed That it was either a virgin or someone sold it when 4.3 came out and nuked their HBC......Either way cannot be sure....

Thanks for the help!

I do have it partially modded, It currently has HBC channel installed.....I just dont think the TBR went off the first run through because I cannot load any WAD's from MMM If I try using WAD Manager 1.7 the Wiimote becomes unresponsive after selecting to load from SD.....So yeah I am stumped being a newcomer to Wii Modding practices lol

thanks burrito, everything gone fine upto remove stubbed isos, it said they werent found, so is this normal? shall i just continue?

UPDATE: YAWMM repeatedly reverts to the opening screen asking me to select an IOS regardless of what IOS I select (Tried 249 and 250) . After doing this 5 or 10 times it fails in a code dump...... 3 WAD managers and none of them work....Something is definitely up

You won't be able to select 249 or 250 until after you have modded it. If it has ios41 on it, it is/was previously modded (unless you successfully installed it)... What version of the hbc do you have installed? When you go into the IOS Manager in MMM what version of IOS41 does it say is installed? Also check IOS15. Did you complete the tbr steps successfully?

IOS41 v3091

Read me file for HBC says it is version v0.3.8

Thanks Erik, I really appreciate your help.

Ok, go and load up Trucha Bug Restorer...

Press left until you get to IOS15 and press A. BE PATIENT
When it asks you, press 1
Choose IOS36 Menu
Go down to Patch hask check (trucha), Patch ES_Identity, nand permissions, and Patch version check and press right on each to make them say yes.
Go back up to Install patched IOS36 and press A.
Press A through all the prompts until you get back to the Homebrew Channel.

Did this work successfully? If it code dumps, try again, if you get other errors, post them here... Seems like someone attempted to mod it previously and failed miserably

sorry for the noobish questions ive been out of the loop since all of this IOS modding has come about. your guide says install all the wads, and inside the mod folder is the 6 cIOS wads like before, but also the IOS70-64-v6687 wad that i already installed earlier (does this need installing again? as well as the IOS15-64-v1031) or should i just install the 6 cIOS wads?

thanks

Check the file names of the 2 ios70's... they should be different

If they aren't, let me know... As for the ios15 either way will be fine...

IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad
IOS15-64-v1031.wad
->up42e.zip

the wads i installed with initial 4.2 update

IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad
IOS15-64-v1031.wad
->42mod-fix.zip

the exact same 2 files included in the mod dir of your 'fix' zip. they are of same filename and same crc32. so yes same files.

intentional and i should install them again? or mistake?

thanks
