Newbie at hacking/modding a Wii here and need help.

When installing the HackMii Installer, there's a pink message next to "BootMii:" that says "Can only be installed as an IOS"

That message can be green/pink depending on the Wii, correct? Is there any way to make it read as "Can be installed" because I need the Bricking Protection or whatever it is.

Any way?

Many thanks for helping.

There is unfortunately no way to make it work for you.
The best brick protection you can have is Priiloader.

Priiloader? How will I install this? Do I install it with HackMii or stop uninstalling HackMii and just install Priiloader?

Thanks!

You install it after you're done with the Hackmii installer.

another question!

My wii drive is the follows:

There is a 50% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip.
And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
Lastly, a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1).

In which of above cases I will be able to use backups?

Priiloader has its own installer. You can run it with the Homebrew Channel.

Only if it's D3-2 you won't be able to read backups from Disc, so 75% chance you'll be able to use backups from disc.
+ 100% chance of being able to run backups from USB.

Ok; perhaps I'm "unlucky" enough to belong to the 25% case. I tried just one backup and it wasn't read using both neogamma and softchip. Is there any other way apart that "sign" to understand I belong to that 25%, i.e. to exclude I did some other mistake, so that the backup disk wasn't read? I add that the usb loader is working using the same backup, so the backup iso was good and the softmod was succesfully done.

Is Neogamma loading your USB games correctly?

well I can't try it as I loaded my backup in a FAT partition, so the walkthrough should try a WBFS-partioned usb drive backup using neogamma? then if it works I am sure the drive isn't reading backups?

I just performed the hack with what seems to be a success, except I have two issues that are of concern.

1: My Homebrew Channel is upside down! - Fixed by installing HBC again with bannerbomb
2: When I turn the Wii on with the Wii-Mote, the Wii-mote does not stay active and requires me to turn it on again.

Please help

Edit: Another issue is that I seem to get a lot of black screens. Like when I tried to launch MMM before it went to black screen. I have to pull the cable out and try again, it worked the second time.

Thanx

ERROR#004 is when you try to run bannerbomb on 4.3.

You dont need to pull the cable out. Hold the power button down for 5 seconds.

you might wanna modify the guide to mention that bannerbomb does not work on really old system menus. I had 2.2U and it didn't work. However, I was able to get it to work by using the twilight hack and then continuing the guide from there.

Now if I could just figure out why my CRAP forwarder channels stopped working....

You updated to cIOS rev19, that's probably why.

I'm not on 4.3, I'm on 4.2. When I tried to install it the first time, it did not give me any kind of errors. Now when I tried to install it the second time, that's when the error occurs.

Quick question, I'm tired of loading games from NeoGamma, so I'm going to install DARKCORP. Will the Lite version be enough or do I need to install the full version?

If you want to play gamecube games too then install one of the cMIOS (which is only available in the full version).

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
