Hi, I've already updated my Wii to 4.2E using the files updated in November.

Now I've downloaded the last "update.zip" for PAL Wii and I've noticed a different list of WAD files needed to update to 4.2.

To be more precise, this is the list of files I have now:
  • IOS9-64-v778.wad
  • IOS12-64-v269.wad
  • IOS13-64-v273.wad
  • IOS14-64-v520.wad
  • IOS15-64-v523.wad
  • IOS17-64-v775.wad
  • IOS21-64-v782.wad
  • IOS22-64-v1037.wad
  • IOS28-64-v1550.wad
  • IOS31-64-v3349.wad
  • IOS33-64-v3091.wad
  • IOS34-64-v3348.wad
  • IOS35-64-v3349.wad
  • IOS36-64-v3351.wad
  • IOS37-64-v3869.wad
  • IOS38-64-v3867.wad
  • IOS53-64-v5406.wad
  • IOS55-64-v5406.wad
  • IOS56-64-v5405.wad
  • IOS57-64-v5661.wad
  • IOS61-64-v5405.wad
  • IOS70-64-v6687.wad
  • Shopping Channel-NUS-v18.wad
  • System Menu-NUS-v482.wad
This is the list of files I had in November:
  • IOS11-64-v256.wad
  • IOS12-64-v269.wad
  • IOS13-64-v273.wad
  • IOS14-64-v520.wad
  • IOS15-64-v523.wad
  • IOS17-64-v775.wad
  • IOS20-64-v256.wad
  • IOS21-64-v782.wad
  • IOS22-64-v1037.wad
  • IOS28-64-v1550.wad
  • IOS30-64-v2816.wad
  • IOS31-64-v3349.wad
  • IOS33-64-v3091.wad
  • IOS34-64-v3348.wad
  • IOS35-64-v3349.wad
  • IOS36-64-v3351.wad
  • IOS37-64-v3869.wad
  • IOS38-64-v3867.wad
  • IOS50-64-v5120.wad
  • IOS53-64-v5406.wad
  • IOS55-64-v5406.wad
  • IOS56-64-v5405.wad
  • IOS60-64-v6400.wad
  • IOS61-64-v5405.wad
  • IOS70-64-v6687.wad
  • IOS9-64-v778.wad
  • Shopping Channel-NUS-v18.wad
  • System Menu-NUS-v482.wad
In November I had the exact list of files shown in the CompleteSoftmodGuide http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/other-stuff/virgin, now the following files are missing:
  • IOS11-64-v256.wad
  • IOS20-64-v256.wad
  • IOS30-64-v2816.wad
  • IOS50-64-v5120.wad
  • IOS60-64-v6400.wad
and the following one has been added:
  • IOS57-64-v5661.wad
My question is: do I have to run again the process updated to 4.2 again ?

In case, I think that the CompleteSoftmodGuide must be updated ...

Same question about the "Restoring the Trucha Bug": I've already restored the Trucha Bug in November, do I have to redo it with the new application "GP DOP-IOS MOD" ?

Thank you

in the guide, under the section 'Installing cIOS & Patching the System Menu IOS' it gives a list of files to check (+) which are:

cIOS202[38+60]-v4.wad
cIOS222[38+37]-v4.wad
cIOS223[38]-v4.wad
cIOS249-v17.wad
cIOS250-v17.wad
IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad

All the files are in the zip archive i got from OP, except these 2:

cIOS249-v17.wad
cIOS250-v17.wad

i could not find them so i installed the v16 variant - everything still seems to work including usb iso loaders etc

can some1 tell me what difference them 2 files make? if i find them and install them will they benefit my wii?

Thanks guys you lot r the best

Are you saying that cIOS 249-v17 and cIOS 250-v17 weren't included in the zip file you got by emailing for the pack recently? Or have you not sent for the updated pack as of like 2 days ago?

I'd recommend updating to v17 of both, game compatibility is better than the last couple updates, less buggy as well.

You can either re-mail and see if they have been added yet, or check this thread out

After following the guide and succesfully modding it, i discovered that when i put the Fifa10 disc in it wants to do a system update? It says im on 4.2U which i thought was the most updated? Should i follow the instructions to update even though its already modded or am i missing something here?

+1

...and have a "Files last updated on xx/xx/xxxx date" would be a big help for the regular users of this thread.

How to restore truncha bug in this guide is useless, none of those options appear even when following all the exact steps. Can someone clarify/explain that process please?

Thanks for all the help guys. I don't really know what the original problem was, but I remember using this guide a while back and removing only a few stub IOSes.

QUOTE said:
The guide should really be updated to include that only the 222,223,249 and 250 stubs are removed so that problems with original discs can be averted.

Redid the whole process with this tip and everything seems to be functioning correctly. Thanks again!

One quick question, I installed DVDX via this step:

QUOTEThis runs the Hackmii Installer from which you should install the Homebrew Channel, DVDX [optional], & Bootmii as IOS & boot2 if possible.

so what else do I need to do to be able to play DVDs? This mod was done for someone else and I no longer have the Wii in front of me, so hopefully it's something simple that I can guide them through.

So far i have followed the guide word by word and everything has worked fine but now that i reach this point: "Choose IOS36 and start the stub removal process if any are installed" im having trouble. Once i select this option it comes up with the loading IOS screen but then nothing happens, it just says loading IOS until i reset. Help PLEASE!!!!
