Okay, I tried reading the posts here and I have no idea how or what to fix my problem...

I have a 4.2 Wii and I am following the step correctly only to this part:
Run DOP-IOS MOD v10
Go down to select Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning.
Press B to choose no IOS reload.
Choose Downgrade IOS15.
Choose load IOS from SD.
Run Trucha Bug Restorer

I do not see where it says to run the TBR... so I am kinda stuck on this part, any suggestions?

Trucha bug restorer was used in the guide that was used until yesterday, but now that xzxero has updated the files and guide, it seems that he forgot to edit that part of the steps, since Trucha Bug Restorer is no longer used, the steps should refer to the DOP-IOS MOD v10.

Let me take a look at the files and guide, and I'll try to help you fix the problem and do the right steps to continue with the guide

Thanks, any help would be much appreciated.

Hey jemindra, if you're still around, try doing the trucha bug restorer steps as posted by longtom1, just make sure that your wii can connect to wifi.

After you complete those steps, proceed to the next ones, where you have to remove stub ioses and all that.

If you don't have a way to connect to the internet with your wii, or dont have a clue on how to continue, you can either wait for xzxero to update the guide again and fix that, or PM me and i'll send you the guide I used before today, and the files too.

im sorry guys, ill fix it right the trucha steps asap, that herb is getting to me!!
Don't worry about it, noobs need to learn how to wait XD
I figured it out myself, combining the old steps and files with the new ones... Just finished modding another wii

If you ever need help checking everything is fine with the guide before posting, just lemme know

how about you let me know if you see a mistake or error?
aha, siick how you still figured stuff out, thats why its not meant for noobs, the CSG is!

I want to update my nephews Wii to 4.2 so he can play his store bought retail disc of Wii Sports Resort. His Wii is already soft modded. So do I have to follow this whole guide, or is there a particular step or two that I can skip to?

Sorry for the stupid question, but I've been out of the Wii modding scene for a little while.

Thanks.

EDIT: Ok, well I did this on mine. I installed on the IOS's, and the System Menu-NUS-v481.wad, and the shop channel wad. So now I'm on 4.2. Guess that's all I need to do? So I"ll do the same to my nephews when he comes by.

Now...my next question(I read this happened to someone else). When I pop in Wii Sports Resort, is it still going to ask me to 4.2? And if it does, what should I?(seeing as I'm on 4.2 now)

[Apparantly IOS12 & IOS13 will not appear on the list, but they are above top one.]

I cant see these 2 ios's anywhere.

Is anyone else able to find ios12 and ios13 in wad manager? It wont show up for me in the new pal update to 4.2 guide? is their a way of getting to it, i have not installed the 25 files yet as 12 and 13 and a few others are not there. Should i carry on with guide or wait for ios 12 and ios 13 issue + to be solved? I have already tried going to the very top and they are they are definately not there!

I followed the pal update zip file in order to update and remod my mates wii.

Is it safe to turn the wii off/restart it after installing IOS70-64-v6687.wad & System Menu-NUS-v482.wad or should i leave it on until i sort out the ios12 and ios 13 issue?

The guide also says that i install the remaining 25 files but their are only 19 ios wads remaining (inc shopping channel) that are available to install. Is the ios12 & ios13 and the additional missing 4 files neccessary.

I'm very confused as i updated my wii to 4.2 using this guide (before updated version) a few days ago with no probs whatsoever!
I dont now what ios12 and ios13 are used for and i am only concerned about them as 'xzxero' mentions them in this guide. I also counted the wads when i did my wii the other day and their were definately 25 additional wads (including the shopping channel) to install.

Very confused at the moment and a bit scared to turn wii off!

They are there just go to the top of the list to the one you can actually see and then press the up button one time and then hit the + button and then hit the up button one more time and press the + button and then hit the up button one more time and then press the + button.

I believe there is 3 or 4 of them you can not see.

9,12,13,14

I think those are the ones not for sure though i will check later to see for sure but i know they are there because last night i tried it out and went above the last one i could see and hit the + button and then hit the 1 button to batch install everything and it was counted as one of them being installed.

What is the diff. between Disc and USB loading? Do you mean how one wishes to boot games from a backup loader?

Disc backup loaders load games from a burned disc (DVD)
And USB loaders load games from an USB device
