Do you need to install anything on your pc? I thought u didn't need to but i'm not sure about it though.

@xzxero

Hello, i used youre guide to update from a virgin 4.0E to 4.1E applying trunca to 4.1 or lower. Patching trunca with the offline method worked very well, only patching IOS60 without a working connection didn't work.
I placed the right files in the right subdirectories, but still DOP IOS-MOD complained about not finding the right file. Only with a working connection the IOS60 patch succeeded.( see also http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=177952)

Also the offline update of the systemmanager didn't work, i placed the system-menu WAD file (downloaded with NUS downloader) in the WAD directory, but DOP-IOS V9.0 still download the whole systemmenu again. Is this a Fault??

Question: I modded my Wii using your guide about a month ago. I think it was updated Nov. 26th. I see that you've recently updated the guide. Do I need to go through any steps to keep my Wii updated? Or am I all set?

Just tried it on a brand new Wii (was already 4.2U out of the box). All the installation worked great but i can't play DVD Backup via NEO Gamme R7 it always give me "DVD READ ERROR (1011)".

Everything else work great (installed some Wiiware game and they play fine)

Someone here have a idea?

PS: The problem is not the Burned DVD they play perfectly on my other softmodded Wii.

oh wow your quick im trading it in so i can get a ps3 only MadWorld and The Conduit were worth it.
EDIT:Problem update succesful but i just realized that i forgot to move my disc channel to its original slot and im not able to use startpatch how do i install preloader

Is it possible to update directly from ninty as an alternate to the update part., then carry on with modify? Or is it too risky? I do have the hombrew channel up to date to prevent any upside down issues.

I hope someone can please answer my question.

thank you so much tj_cool jus goin to do it now. but... internet has cut because of snow yesterday so dont want to risk it.

Anyway thanks.

Never mind about my last question, got the issue resolved.

I was wondering if I have to do anything special to get Bootmii to show up? I was able to install it via the first step, but it does not load up when the Wii starts. Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi,

I've used this too many times and no error. However a friend of mine has runned the update and after it, when he tries to access the SD menu...wii blocks and has to be "Hard-Shutdown".

Anyone has an idea why?

The prepared SD card must be inserted in the wii

Try another bannerbomb version from the list of the bannerbomb site

Thanks tj, it is inserted into the Wii. Should I try a reinstall? I see a bootmii folder at the root of my SD card with these files inside: armboot.bin, bootmii, ppcboot.elf. Still does not start when the Wii is started.
