If you mess up the soldering on the Wii, could you destroy it? and if so, could the Wii be destroyed simply by accidently soldering 2 points together?

certainly if you accidently solder 2 points together it can cause a short and yes, destroy the Wii...

however if you accidently solder 2 points together, you can easily "unsolder" the 2 points apart, as long as they're not bridged when you plug the thing in! hehe. again, that's why I'd practice first on some garbage electronic boards. you can try disconnecting 2 points that were 'accidently' connected.

again though im no real expert, just saying dont be too scared to try it out.

When I was putting the Viper chip into my GC, I turned it on but only got a black screen. Checked back and found two points soldered together. Either I got lucky, or the chance of destroying it is not very good. Simply unsoldering the points put it all back to normal. But ya, if you do accidentally solder two together, just make sure that you seperate them before applying power.

People will be mad if they buy an early modchip then one comes out at a later date that allows you to play VC games by bypassing all the protection on them.

You seem to forget that wiinja allows you to run gamecube homebrew, so i can just burn a disc full with snes/nes roms and play them

I also did a firmware mod to my 360 and it works perfect

I just hope that the wiinja really gets released on february 1st....

oh and how long until a solderless solution? the wait will be alot longer then if you just buy a cheap $10 solder iron and try soldering. come on...doooo it! lol.

. As for solderless...I don't think that they will be here soon, mainly because the only type of mod currently available is a drive mod (try finding mount points on that drive).

There won't be a solderless solution for a drive mod I can't see a way of connecting it lol, you could try placing the wires on the points and taping them down lol but wouldn't be very secure and doubt it would work.

Listen to Poisoness J but a $10 soldering iron, practice on an old smashed up cd player or something then buy a soldered chip
