Hacking Mocha FAT32 won't detect USB

I have been trying to install a Wii VC game to NAND, and since my SD card isn't big enough, I am forced to use Mocha FAT32 version to install from a USB stick. I have copied all the game files to the USB:/install/ folder and attempted to load Mocha from my SD card (via Haxchi), but when the CFW launches, the message pops up again saying I must format the USB drive, and WUP Installer GX2 indicates there are no files to install. I have ensured my USB stick was FAT32 formatted and MBR instead of GPT. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: It must not be formatted right somehow. I will try to fix this.
EDIT 2: If anyone ever sees this, it seems the formatting wasn't the problem. After re-formatting a few times, I finally copied all my SD card files (including vWii stuff) onto the USB with the install folder. Then I put the USB in the back of the Wii U instead of the front and booted Mocha, and the message was no longer there! So something I did worked.

I've never used mocha. But i think you still but game on sd card to install. I could be wrong

After you launch Mocha FAT32, your USB is supposed to replace the SD, in function. This means you can launch any homebrew, including WUP Installer, via the USB (if you have the files on the drive).

verify you are really using Mocha 0.2 beta with FAT32 support.
latest mocha does not have FAT32 support, you need the unofficial release, compiled by another user (not dimok).

you can verify that the SD to USB is not enabled by putting a title in the SD:/install/ folder. WUP installer will list it, it means it's still reading from SD and no redirection is done.
or put different homebrew on SD and USB to see if HBC lists the correct device.
the redirection is a bug, but currently it's useful for what you want to do.

Thank you, I did actually get the game installed by adding my vWii homebrew to the USB, I basically copied everything from the SD and the message no longer showed. After that, WUP Installer worked fine.
