Hi guys. I have noticed on the eShop that Minecraft is coming to the Switch. Is it worth getting? I have never played it before, but keep hearing about it. Only game I have played that seems similar is Dragon Quest Builders. How does Minecraft on Switch compare to PC version (I do not have PC version)? Is there any difference between them? Thoughts on all of this greatly appreciated :)

Dragon quest is just a Minecraft's ripoff without online mode, Minecraft is a Massive online multiplayer sandbox, if you like DQ, then you must get it too.

There's a free version on Microsoft store, you can try it out.

Minecraft has been on Switch for a while; the one that's "coming to" Switch is sort of a weird update/replacement (afaik, people who own the original Switch Minecraft get it for free).
Anyway, as someone who owns and has played plenty of both here's some points:
- The Switch version has limited world size, as opposed to the (practically) infinite PC world sizes, but unless you're a pure nomad this doesn't matter that much
- Mouse/keyboard is a bit more precise, obviously, but playing with a controller surprisingly isn't too bad
- The Switch version can't officially be modded, but the PC version can
- The Switch version will always be a bit behind content-wise, since the PC version always gets updates first, with console versions coming later
- The portability aspect of the Switch version is real nice

I would mostly recommend the PC version unless you think you'd really prefer playing it on your Switch. The latter version is perfectly fine, but simply doesn't have the same advantages.

Thanks for the info. Can the Switch version be played offline? I am not always around an internet connection when I play my Switch.

yes, you can, but YOU WON'T ENJOY it at 100%: Minecraft supports cross-platform cross-region play, it means you can play it on pc with players from X360, X1, android phones, iphones, and switch, all except sony cauz their CEO is piece of junk with mind fukkedup.

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction

You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
