@smea amazing piece of work i hope youl win the neo competition
smile.gif

tested on DSTwo (version NitroFS) + 3DS.

* On game launch, there are garbages lines on bottom screen until the title screen appear. (same when exiting game to title menu with Start)
* Both screen have an odd refresh rate (it looks like it's blinking continuously with different brightness (scintillement)). No problem ingame, only on title screen.
* On texture pack selection screen, when using the scroll bar the top and bottom screen are merged/swapped (like 10 lines at the top of each screen).
* when loading a texture pack, either the bottom screen is printed in the top screen, either the top printed in the bottom screen (when it's freezing until it's loaded), then all is back to normal.

Seems to be all related to the video buffer/vsynch.

In game:
* in inventory : dragging a bloc to bottom line works fine (it swap textures correctly), but moving a block to another place holder is buggy. First time it swap, second time if you want to swap the newly moved block again back to it's place then it doesn't work, it's using the old block not the new one, and place two texture in the same place. always grab the bottomless texture.
Try with the water bucket to see easily the problem, as it doesn't match the bottom pattern.
1 - swap water to inventory (work)
2 - swap water (in inventory) with adjacent block (work)
3 - re-move the water back to its old adjacent place : both are in the same place. (The water is really not invisible in the empty case, as you can't grab the empty case)
4 - try re-swapping the water to the empty place : it grabs the lower sprite instead
5- swap water back to usable panel at the bottom : two item again. if you select it, it's placing lower sprite block on the map.

* still in inventory mode : the square mark sometime is not centered on block area, and doesn't always follow the selected block. it reset only when selecting a block in the bottom line.

* In fly mode, left/right acts like touchscreen, you can't strafe anymore.
* like already said in a previous comment, it's hard to move out of water. the player stay at the level of the last bloc, not at the top of it.

That's all for the moment, I hope it will help

Ps: we should maintain a list of reported/worked/fixed bugs to prevent user saying the same thing until the next release.

Thanks for the feedback people. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
<b>To everyone experiencing white screen issues etc. at boot</b> : try using the FAT only version (and don't forget to place the dscraft directory at the root of your card !); you can get it here : <a href="http://smealum.net/dscraft/downloads/DScraft_fat.rar" target="_blank">http://smealum.net/dscraft/downloads/DScraft_fat.rar</a>

If you're trying to get it to work on an emulator, I guess that's normal. I haven't tried it on DeSmuMe, only on no$gba, so I can't tell you how to get it to work on the former, but for the latter you have to embed a map file in the .nds's filesystem using something like DSlazy. I guess I could just release a no$gba ready demo for people who want to make videos and stuff. The thing is though, you won't be able to save, so it's fine to try the game out, but not actually play it. (who'd want to play it on a PC anyway ? minecraft classic is free and much better <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)

A few suggestions for minor improvements/clarifications of the new official homepage:

- Add a brief note on what is the difference between the NitroFS and the FAT versions, for those who don't know which one to use.
- Expand a bit of clarifying words to the text about the mapGen program, e.g. "The mapGen program is a Windows application used to generate new worlds. Simply execute it on your PC and follow the steps. It cannot be executed or used from your NDS."
- Add a link to this thread in the GBAtemp.net forum!
- Add a list with stuff on your to-do list, and perhaps more importantly stuff which you have decided NOT to implement/work on, at least for the time being! This might save you a lot of the same enthusiastic comments and requests from excited users, and grant you time to focus on the project!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah, those are all good suggestions, I'll try to keep it in mind. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And I'm releasing the 'Mother2' texture pack soon! (FAT only).<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
What do you mean it freezes ? Do you mean after you've changed control schemes in the menu and pressed "back" ? Because it's normal for the game to "stutter" for a second or two at that moment; it's because it's saving data. If it freezes indefinitely, then there's a problem with writing to your card. Does the saving in game work alright ? I think you also had trouble saving screenshots, no ?
As for your texture pack, that's cool ! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Why would it be FAT only though ? Any texture pack works in both nitro and FAT version as long as you place it in the right directory. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Thanks for the detailed report. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Yeah, I kinda know about these bugs already, just forgot to fix them before release. That is, except for " Both screen have an odd refresh rate (it looks like it's blinking continuously with different brightness (scintillement))"; never had that and you're the only one ever to report it, so that's weird. :/ Also, " On texture pack selection screen, when using the scroll bar the top and bottom screen are merged/swapped", I didn't use to have that... I mean, I also noticed it while playing this morning and it's very aggravating that it never appeared until after release. I'm kind of banging my head against my desk atm because of that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I'm sorry that you have bug in the released competition version which weren't there before.
If you need more (beta) testing, just ask me again here of by PM.

Ps: I edited my post above:
I added the "let's keep a place with all reported and known/fixed bug". on your website, or here on first post, or even better, The Wiki it's easier to maintain and edit
smile.gif

Edit:
I did that quickly : http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/DScraft
Sorry for spelling errors, someone can correct them

OK, now that I've had a play - yes there's still glitches but the ones I've found have already been reported so I won't repeat them

This post is for....dare I say it... the first 'Custom Map'

OK - It's actually one of the original maps
- but I've cleared out a large area, near the spawn point, & made it flat, plus added a little platform that you can stand to see the whole area
Hopefully this'll be a good starting point for anyone who wants to make sculptures etc, & can't be bothered to clear an area out

SCR_00004.jpg

Download from filetrip

I MAY continue clearing out a larger area - but this area is, as far as I can see (no pun intended), is as large as possible & still allows you to view the other side

I MAY even make other separate areas around this one (same size/style) with different bases (sand/glass/cobble etc)

I made a table instead of a simple list, so you can mark a bug as fixed when you want.
I've put "new" to my blinking bug as nobody else had it.

Can users add links to their texture pack in that page too ? (at least until you put them on your website)

Edit:
Ok, I think I'm done with the wiki page.
Added links, instructions, DSTwo plugin icon, and the bug list.

Edit2 : I'm adding texture and maps table
wink.gif

Don't edit yet.

Tried it fun but with some minor tweaks it could be worth playing for me.
I prefer games which are tweaked right but this is an achievement for all mankind
to be proud of
happy.gif

Notch is going to be like 0_0 this guy needs to take over my project (lol jokes).

Nice ! And yeah, a table for texture packs and maybe even custom maps could be cool.

I'll change my description in the first post.

QUOTE(Cyan @ Aug 21 2011, 02:22 PM)
@Smealum :
You still have link error (no FAT version) on both gbatemp and Neo.
Thanks for the heads up, fixed.
smile.gif

I created a table for texture packs and one for the Maps
smile.gif

I added a column for DSCraft version, as I don't know if maps will always be compatible (you already updated it once, and it wasn't).
I added the version for the texture pack too, but I can remove it if you don't plan to change it. (more blocks, more texture, bigger size, etc.) I leave it for the moment.

Users can now fill the wiki page
smile.gif

It shouldn't be too complicated to add your own entry, check the previous line, make a copy paste and replace with your informations.
|- This will Create a new line in the table. Don't write anything else here.
| Column 1
| Column 2
| Column x

Try to keep it organized (alphabetically would be great)
Let me know if you need additional columns.

Also, links look better when they are on filetrip

Thanks for fixing the map size.

Click on the button saying "Create" in the top left corner of your touchscreen, so it changes to "Destroy". Now click on one of the blocks surrounding you to remove it. Alternatively, save your game with the "Save" button in the upper right and restart your DS.

Edit: Meh, not fast enough. :\

You press the "create" button on the bottom screen, then it changes to destroy mode.
Do I need to explain how to change it back?
Thanks, I'm really bad at Minecraft, I remember playing on the PC and swimming for hours to avoid the zombies. BTW I hink someone should make a Button Control Guide.
