I was pointing out that calling a game crappy because it got updates after you bought it is no reason at all. There's tons of "AAA" games for the PS3 and 360 that got updates after release and nobody would dare care them bad because of that. Mass Effect, Borderlands, etc. Even games that just get bug fixes (and not free DLC) could count if you try to apply the "beta" label.

And of course the main example was MMOs, which can get hundreds of updates after release, but nobody shits their britches over it because complaining about free additional content after you bought the game already is nonsensical.

To be fair the comparing the 1.0 Minecraft release to a release like Mass Effect 3 is vastly different. Minecraft 1.0 still was like wholly unfinished. Mass Effect 3 stood on its own without any "updates".

That's where I mention MMOs, which get tons of content updates, often doubling or tripling their content after release. Also Terraria, where people shit their collective britches when they heard updates were going to stop.
