If you've made any Minecraft 3DS mods, share and talk about them here! Even if you haven't, you can post suggestions, ideas, or questions that you have. This thread will be based upon collaboration, so someone will hopefully help you out. I've added guides below, so you can follow them and create your own mods for this game.

Minecraft 3DS uses a new texture format: .3DST. However, this can be opened using the modified Ohana3DS build attached to the post.

1. Extract your games ROMFS using Decrypt9 or another program.
2. Browse around the game's content and look for a file you'd like to edit (.3DST Only).
3. Download and extract the Ohana3DS build attached to this post. (by @mariosonicds)
4. Run the .EXE.
5. Navigate to Tools --> BCH texture replacer...
6. Open the .3DST file you'd like to edit.
7. Click Export and choose a location to save the file.
8. Open the exported .PNG file in an image editor, such as Photoshop.
10. Make any edits you want to the image, and then save the file.
10. On Ohana3DS, click Replace.
11. Select the image you just saved
12. Save the file
13. Done! Your .3DST file now contains the edited texture. You can use OnionFS or something to load the file.

I recommend using OnionFS. There is a tutorial on that hyperlink.

Minecraft's Title ID for USA is 00040000001B8700.

If you would like to be able to edit this post, send me a private message. You'll be able to help add other people's mods to this post or change anything else you feel is necessary.

Good tutorial.

Also, I think OnionFS is kinda obsolete now as Luma3DS (since 7.0) has built-in LayeredFS for running custom game files. :P

Here's some codes I made, I've converted them from NTR to Gateshark so feel free to optimise them or whatever, I don't usually make GW codes :P

I tried making an item amount modifier, but changing some RAM values seems to be locked unless you open a GDB server with Luma (or it could be just a coincidence)

Also offsets are very dynamic.

I've been tinkering with my 3ds all day trying to get this to work, I'm pretty new to romfs stuff so if anyone would be so kind as to link me to an in-depth guide/help me out it'd be greatly appreciated

I made a custom skin pack with 9 custom skins

it includes:
Popplio (the skin is a little messed up for some reason)
Sonic (joke)
Lucas from Pokemon Platinum
Greninja and the skin I play in smash
Bowser
Ness
Brendan from Pokemon Emerald
Green Yoshi

Just note when editing Skins Textures are upside-down intentionally for w/e reason and it isnt the fault of Ohana, keep that in mind!, plus Dont bother replacing the Default Steve/Alex Skins the game has a backup copy somewhere and reverts (paint dot net is a decent free image editor for dealing w/ any MC Skin as an FYI.)

Has anyone tried swapping the main texture pack with one of the ones that's hidden within the game's files?

If we can figure out how to do that, then that can [potentially] lead to actual texture pack hacks.

I wanna make another skin pack, but I have no ideas

I'll do a request skin pack, its gonna go over Biome Settlers 1, and theres 24 slots, so ask away
