No.. It's ridicules.. I could explain it, but due the lack of knowledge of anything near programming and hardware I won't..
Ok. I will.
It doesn't work due:
1. There isn't a java engine for the DS and there won't be, because it would be useless because of the next point.
2. The lack of RAM the DS has 4MB and if you want to run Minecraft you need AT LEAST around 512MB.

At the guy above ^:
We could create a simplified minecraft homebrew designed for the DS. I mean one that doesn't connect to online servers.
Still, it'd be hard, but possible.

This has been asked (in a topic) before, and the answer is still "no". Minecraft is too much of a resource hog, and it still would be if Notch decided to code it properly. The are too big to keep in the DS memory (only 4 MB), and then you don't even have the engine yet.
Besides that, how fast do you think it would run? World generating happens almost constantly and with as little world as you can have in DS RAM it'd have to generate new chunks even constantly-er (more constantly?). Also, the DS' processor isn't fast enough to generate new chunks at a speed fast enough to keep playing.
