Folks, I've been able to legally transfer save from yuzu via switch 1 to switch 2. It's all possible. Nintendo doesn't care if it's offline *and legal*
If that save file affects online in anyway it might tho

This has been ruled safe for a while now. Usually only games like animal crossing and splatoon get banned since those save mods affect online muuuch more

Pokemon is dependent on if you do a good job or not but the in game legality checker should save you most of the time before you do something silly

I have never played online and I have never been banned for offline behaviour.

Despite what some of the murmers of users on this dodgy forum take as fact.

So for individuals that have a Hackable OG switch 1, is it advisable to just keep the firmware at 18.1.0? Seems like, that firmware version has the best chance of localy updating games on MigSwitch that will be used of a Switch 2.

Or it doesn't matter the firmware version of switch 1? Some games just aren't successful at updating localy from hacked switch 1, to switch 2 no matter the Switch 1 firmware?

Keep in mind a lot of games don't even run in 18.1.0 any longer and require you to have a higher firmware version to even be able to display the cartridge on your console.
I just had to update to 20.1.1 from 201.0 for that same reason with a game.

Well, that is very rare, for example, Carmen Sandiego does not load in MIG fw 18.1.0, but it does in Sphaira. You can install it and then install the update and transfer it to Switch 2, but it appears very rarely.

Iron Meat requires you to update the console fw 18.1.0 to display the cartridge, but using the previous method, you can install and then update it in S2.

Although it's not necessary, it's still possible.

You are talking about Sphaira, that probably removes the fw. version requirement when installing the game . Yes, you are right, there are means to do a lot of things, and if it works for you, so be it :)

If you say so... using my own dumps my nephew's nsw1 console has been online playing the dumps without issues for years already.. no bans... so as long as you don't use "other sources", maybe it will follow the same behaviour... :)

Go play online with a legit game for about 5 minutes. Watch what happens
I was considering trying this (would fortnight from eshop count?) but I never want or need to play online so I probably won't. As long as I have updates and eshop I'm happy.

Folks here really need to specify because there is a difference between going/being Vs PLAYING online.

There isn’t a difference with Nintendo

If you even connect online ALL of your logs are sent…

Hey Jasapolis, do you mind sharing more info on how to replicate this?

It's like installing an xci of a game that can't be read, directly from the cartridge on fw 18.1.0 using Sphaira, just to enable the match version with local users option. so you can later install the update on S1 and send it to S2.
It also works with Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 and its update on S1

Yes! yesterday I was able to launch Galaxy 1 + 2 on my S2 with this method... I did have to downgrade to 18.1.0 on my S1 but at least it works...

Great news, that means S2 fw20.5.0 continues to accept updates from fw18.1.0 which are failing on S1 fw20.5.0.

Yeah!

I don't know why 18.1.0 works but it's good to know.

At least in my case, the update 1.2.0 for Galaxy 1+2 doesn't enable the S2 enhancements, it runs the S1 version (1080p, not 4k)
