I was banned not for using a mig switch but for buying an account game from a known website.

Dont know if to get a second switch 2 or not. It is in airplane mode now and still can play cyberpunk and the games I did buy.

What website and what game? You can't just say you were banned without giving details about what exactly banned you. How exactly did you buy a game outside the eshop thats not a cart or a digital key that you redeem on the eshop.

Let me guess:

You bought a "Game Account" on Kinguin or G2A.

It is basically a Nintendo Account Login with a single game on it.

These are usually cheaper than game keys, because the games on these type of accounts are always bought with stolen credit card information and you don't get/own the e-mail address associated with the account.

At some point the real owner of the e-mail address will change the password and sell the account a second and third time if it has not already been banned.

Sorry for your ban.

Similar site but I suppose that is exactly what happened.

A little bit of context.

Nintendo actually created a pretty much flawless system with the Switch 1. Read comments by SciresM; the kernel is basically exploit-free.

The Switch 1 is unhackable via software (softmod). The reason why it got hacked was because of NVIDIA, not Nintendo.

An analogy:

Imagine Nintendo creating the most secure safe (safe box) ever. But by a simple rookie mistake, NVIDIA left the keys attached to the safe. That's the reason it was hacked. This is the original paperclip hack.

So Nintendo and NVIDIA removed the key and sealed the keyhole (Mariko revision), but for very technical reasons, they can't change the internals of the safe, only remove the key and seal the keyhole. So, that's why a modchip was created. You are basically opening the sealed keyhole, and reinserting the key. This can't be changed on the original Switch 1.

Switch 1 games are encrypted, and the encryption keys are inside the safe. That's why games can be dumped, but most importantly, decrypted.

Now, for the Switch 2, they keep using the same unhackable software. So, a softmod is highly unlikely. But now NVIDIA created tons of safety measures to avoid the same mistake on the hardware. They basically created a new kind of safe that doesn't use keys anymore (just an analogy), and not only that, but there's no documentation about what they created.

Switch 2 games are encrypted with new encryption methods and keys, and can't be dumped/decrypted until a hack of the Switch 2 happens first. Well, maybe they can be dumped (raw data), but it's useless data without a way to decrypt them.

And sincerely I doubt it will be hacked.

You can find more detailed info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/s/BjM0KJt0aw

Interesting
BTW does the Switch 2 need to be hacked first in order for emulators to come out or emulators of a system can be done without hacking it first?

It needs to get hacked first for several reasons. One, it needs to get hacked to understand the functionality of the hardware to be able to emulate it.

And two, even if an emulator could be created without hacking it first, you still need the keys to decrypt the games. Otherwise the emulator won't be able to play the games.

Well brother we are in the same boat. Looks I've bought some accounts with games too, for now it's workin fine even without internet, cause after i've found out this i've turned on airplane mode. It seems like it will last forever (airplane i mean lol) untill we all witness a brand new cfw or the way of pirating games, since my new switch 2 even unable to download any updates for the games i have now. RIP

Its a shame as I did buy many games from the eshop. This was my first nintendo so i did buy as well the pro controller, annual online sub and sd card. It was only one game which I bought just to save 10 gbp from original that got me banned.

They dont answer your mails and they hang you up the phone. Yeah, i leave it there for better days. Surely now decided not to buy anything related to nintendo. Will go for the xbox/rog console.

Xbox, Sony, Valve... all of those companies would also ban your account if you did the same (purchase stolen games).

Shall have a better experience for sure. I had a steamdeck, rog ally and legion go. Never had such a bad support experience in my 40 years of gaming. This is the worst. I dont mind if my switch 2 was banned but I did mind the arrogance these guys at Nintendo have. Shall order the migswitch and get thru the russian torrents for all nintendo needs.
