huh I be damn... well if my research was good. It seems as long as the Switch 2 been updated at least once online. The firmware for the SD Card reader is updated and should work with microSD Express cards.

My Switch 2 should hopefully arrive in 5 days. Feeling a bit stressed out that Nintendo will release a fw update the coming days because of the need of update the device to use microSD card.

I'm not 100% sure but I would think something like ChoiDujourNX is possible with this exploit

I had a dormant SW2 on 21.1.0 without the SD Express update. I decided to update now that it's clear 23.0.1 has the bug. I used a regular exFAT microSD and tried to import some screenshots, and it asked me to update, which I did. After the update, the same operation obviously can't find any screenshots. Before the update, I had in the support section / third circle letter A, after the update it's letter B. Can someone confirm that the microSD Express update was carried out correctly?

I did the same and mine is also 3 B.

My Switch 2 has ALSO been updated since launch. I'm also on 21.0.1 (latest). I also never used SD card before.

I did the switch 1 screenshot transfer trick as well (with regular exfat MicroSD) but it never asked to update.

I did the same and mine is also 3 B.

Mine is showing (3) A. What does this mean?

What's the trick? A friend of mine is sitting on a launch day switch that he hasn't updated past launch day firmware, but hasn't got the SD patch.

I think this is the case for some people, but not all. Maybe depending in the region or motherboard revision of the console?

I’m on the same point, just before update.
What that A or B mean on section 3?
I’m on 19 and I have a regular SD card from switch 1
Update to 23.0.1 without fear withe this method while active SD card and close future updates?
The way to confirm that SD driver works is that you can import any photo?
The process unlock console SD card, exfat or express cd?

So, the WebKit exploit will likely only be usable on firmware 23.0.1 (no higher, no lower), right?




I currently have two Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.


One was purchased for regular gaming (including online play).

The other was set up right from the start (with an SD card) and has remained offline ever since—just in case a hack ever appears.




Would the best approach now be to update the second Nintendo Switch 2 to firmware 23.0.1 while online, and then keep it offline indefinitely until the WebKit exploit is released?

What about that: stay at 23.0.1 FW, then put 90DNS+Airplane mode. Then, in a half-year when FW 24 comes with JB fixes, connect the console to the internet, get the nasty 'New FW is available' nag, then put it in Airplane mode again and enter the Maintenance mode, to clean up the new downloaded (but not installed) firmware?..

Your switch 2 won't be able to play games released for higher versions than your current firmware if you don't update. Backporting is a thing on PS4 but that's not a guarantee with the Switch 2.

And looking at your current post apparently for a good reason. I would not draw Flame or any other mod out this way.
You can resolve this much much better.
