Microsoft, possibly under pressure from public reception of their... everything nowadays, has promised to improve Win11.
They want to tackle ram-usage, their file explorer and the start menu search.

That would be really cool and i would definitely like that, i might even update for that... but im just not sure i trust a single word they say.

Maybe they need to move away from everything being networked in their OS? There is zero reason that a quick search in the taskbar should take more than a second to bring up what I need. They've enshittified their software for so damn long.
agreed

The worst part is that there is software that proves it can be done. When searching for files I use Everything as it does what Explorer is supposed to do... instantly.

I wish it were true, but I just don't have hope anymore. I'm sitting at damn near 50% ram usage watching a you tube video with steam in the background. I'm so tempted to move away from microslop. They really need a way to turn off telemetry for good. It really feels like spyware at this point.

I think it's too little too late when it comes to the search at least, there are 3rd party applications that do such a better job at it that I don't think Microsoft will ever de-bloat their crap enough to compete.

Translation:

"Microsoft to no longer be in as much denial that it is utterly inept; still needs fans to keep it afloat with worldly power."

the only image attached in the email was showing off that you could move the taskbar, no mention of defender
I know. I'm just joking about windows incompetence. I wouldn't be surprised though if windows defender was more for preventing quality applications from running than viruses.
