As we get closer to the release of Project Natal, we get closer to the day the Xbox 360 makes its biggest push yet for an image makeover. Leading the way will be...new box art.

Since the 360's launch, every single game released on the system has featured the above white stripe running across the top of its box art.

Some upcoming titles, though, feature a new stripe. The one below.

Note the 360's logo remains the same (though it has been made a lighter shade of grey), as does a focus on white and green, but gone are the lines from the "circles" logo the console has used since 2005. In its place is the "wave" that also features on the company's E3 invites for 2010.

You can see some examples of this in practice here, for Kane & Lynch 2, and here, for Mafia II.

Looks mildly better

Ehhhhhhhhh, it's alright I guess, I'd like it if they fixed the dashboard up instead of spending money on "image" my dashboard is hell of a slow and it's not my xbox's fault, it was slow on my old xbox, I bought a new one after the old one broke (very recently) and it's slow as hell loaing my dashboard.

My brothers dashboard loads instantly it's annoying.

What's up with all the changing of boxart lately? First Sony, now Microsoft. Why fix something that isn't broken?

And the green area interferes with the boxart of the game itself. At least, that's the case with Mafia II and Kane & Lynch. It just doesn't seem natural.

Could be an issue of slow internet ?

anyway yeah, they should focus more on the dashboard, i preferred pre-NXE much more then NXE, they should bring it back !

plus boxart is fugly, trying to be all new and technical, doesn't really matter i suppose, pirate all my games.

Issue of slow internet when my brother is in the same house, same room and further away from the router? no it's definately the dashboard itself.

i didn't know, i thought he lived out of home, thus a different room, and thus a different router

i thought like it takes time for all those slide thingies to load.

sorry ?

People really care about this? You'll only see the logo change when you buy the game (if you even buy games), and when you grab it to take the disc out. If you have your games arranged in any manner, you'll never see it; so change or not, it won't be an eye sore. It's a logo above boxart, people.
