Hacking Micro sdhc card poll

I thought I would start a poll to see peoples experiences with different sizes/brands of micro sdhc cards.
Please post: Brand, Size, Speed, Build location and of course your experience with the card.

For me I've only tried a non-branded/generic class 4 8gb card made in Japan.
Transfer speed is about 2MB/s games load fine but for some reason once I go over 2GBs of data on the card, any data copied on to it past that point goes corrupt.
I'm using a microsd usb adapter and got the same results plugging it in on different computers.

Then you probably have a fake card, whichc in reality is a 2GB card.

The 'generic' 8GB Japan class 4 SD-C08G cards get read speeds of 20mb/s, and write speeds of 8MB/s. Although not labeled as such, they are made by Toshiba.

I've had 4 of them and they all get atleast those speeds.

What does pluging the same MicroSD card reader into different PC's prove? Many of those cheap USB MicroSD Card readers are useless. When the PC boots, it should also say in the bios screen that a high speed USB device is connected.

I only use branded Class 4 or Class 6 type cards, current Favs are Samsung ones. No probs and very fast read and write speeds.

I've got an 8GB class 6, Transcend. Transfer speeds are no trouble, and I don't have any issues with games.

Newbie question, how do you check info on the card, such as it's country of origin?

It should say on the actual card itself.

Mines:

1. Transcend 8GB Class 6 Korean Model from Newegg. Not too sure on the transfer speeds, but they're not insanely slow/fast. The card is actually pretty awesome. It'll allow me to play TWEWY, Tony Hawk, Castlevania POR, and Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow's opening without any problems (this is without the help of AKAIO).

2. Kingston 4GB Class 4 Taiwan Model. Again not too sure on transfer speeds, but they're not too slow/fast. Again the card works pretty good. It's different from the above card in that it doesn't play so nice with the above games, but that's pretty much it.

I thought maybe there was some sort of driver error or something.
I confirmed my generic card is either fake and/or defective. Picked up a Kingston 8GB built in Taiwan and it gets write speeds of about 10MB/s. Filled the card up and so far everything I tested works fine.

Got a 4GB SDHC Class 6 Taiwan Card
20MB/s Read
11MB/s Write

But I'm not too certain as I don't remember the Class 6 Card Test Results and it's lent out at the moment.

I used to have a Duracell 4GB Class 4 Japan Micro SD.

Read Rate: 25MB/s (yes! awesome)
Write Rate: 15MB/s

Such awesome card, i´ve never had some sort of lagging in games after all, never. Completely compatible with Wii, DSTTi and so. I gave it as a gift.


Now i have two Kingston:

Both are from Japan and come in 1GB and 2GB.

Read Rates: Up to 15MB/s

Write Rates: Up to 8MB/s

Sure, i'll just plug it into my card reader shall I?

I could go into the garden and perform a rain dance, and the read/ write speeds will magically appear in the sky.

Alternativly you could plug it into your PC and run a speed test such as HDtach to find out the speed yourself.

Write Rate: 12MB/sec

Cost me $40 cdn. (was on sale).

Had it for a year, no slow downs or problems. I'm very happy.
