Well, my card reader lost connection while writing to the SD card and now it acts like there is no card inserted at all. Win XP does not recognize it, Ubuntu neither... I can't format it because it acts just like it isn't there. Is this fixable?
It sounds like your card reader is fried. If it's a cheap one that comes with a flashkart, it's likely that it just gave out. What really matters is your SD card and the data on it. If it's a micro sd card, I would try it in my phone and check if the data on it is alright.
