I have a 16GB Micro SD card and a USB adapter as stated by the title. I was wondering whether it is possible to use it for a Wii ISO backup drive to be loaded by the Wii (already soft modded ready for use)? Issues have been raised previously about using SD cards bigger than 2-4GB. Would i have any problems?

Thanks in advance to anyone that help, whether it works or not :)

Why not put it in the SD card slot? Problems with SDHC cards is with specific homebrew that hasn't been recompiled since SDHC support has been added or for exploits used to initially install the homebrew channel. I use a 16 GB Micro SD in an SD adapter on my Wii. I don't launch games from it, but I could. I just have a 160 USB drive for that.

Ok. If I want to make ISOs as small as possible, how would i do it? Would i need to convert them to WBFS format rather than ISO?
Also, is there a way of launching WiiFlow through the wii channel selection?

Use Wii Backup Manager ( http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/ ) to convert your ISOs to .wbfs. That will remove the dummy data and update partition leaving you with the smallest possible file.

There is a way of launching WiiFlow from a Channel. You can get the channel installer here: https://code.google.com/p/wiiflow/downloads/detail?name=WiiFlow_Channel_Installer_v1.1.zip
