Hacking MH4U JKSM Help

Hi, I'm trying to transfer my mh4u cartridge save to a downloaded version of mh4u.
I don't know if i'm just a massive brainlet or what but I really don't understand what i'm doing here.
I create a backup of my save files, and when i go to the SD folder it says the backup is already there, but when I launch the game there are no saves detected.
Could someone give me a good explanation on what exactly I need to do here?

You don't have a save game? What are you trying to transfer then?

Did you backup and restore the extra data of this game? Or just the save file option?

You have to import the save to the downloaded version as well, not just export from the cartridge version.

I tried to backup the save files in the SD version, and it did it. Thanks for the help everyone!
