Hacking Metroid Trilogy, 3.2 > 4.2 Firmware and the options

Hi Guys

My Wii is hacked already and it's on Firmware 3.2 with a few extra modifications like IOS and Starfall. If I upgrade to 4.2 then follow the guides on here I'll loose my current hacks. But if I don't then I can't play Metroid. Could anyone point me to a way of updating which doesn't involve using the official update from Nintendo? The IOS update I did... ages ago was a simple file to run, giving the 3.2 firmware extra superpowers. Anything like that for the remaining superpowers?

4.x has more than 3.2 has to offer.
