So, I just got my Wii and some games today. Started playing MP3, and I'm on the 2nd level I think, and I LOVE this game. Question though, is it advised that I play through MP1&2 before playing 3?

Not really they kinda have different stories all together [in my opinion]
BUT MP1 and MP2 are great games

Yeah, I'm kinda addicted to MP3 already, and I'm definetly buying MP1 & 2, just wondered if I should wait with MP3 and play them in chronological order. Are there no connections between the games?

Thanks alot. Another question. Do you need a GameCube memory card to play GC games on the Wii?

Careful going back, the control on those first two sucks if you're in any way accustomed to FPS controls on a console. You can't 'mouselook' around without standing and using a button, nor can you move(and while moving) lock to a target to fire back making you stand there as a bullseye to get your lock. It quite sucks the fun out of it because they stupidly mapped the visors to that c-stick. It could be shitty hell going from MP3 back to the first two, but if you do MP2 is fairly sorry so try 1 and see how it goes.

Yeah, I understand. I'm not used to FPS games on consoles, but I'll manage! Thanks for your input, though.

its advisable that you play through them if you warrant yourself a gamer, being that they are 2 of the greatest games ever made

seriously though
play them

MP3 is pretty much the same as the gamecube versions of metroid, just with different controls. MP1 and MP2 are two of the best games on the cube, so if you got time they're definitely worth a look.

Just ordered an official GC controller, 64MB memory card, and Metroid Prime 1&2. Any other GC games I should get (except Wind Waker)?

imo MP1 was best in the Prime series... tho one part of mp3 was soooooooo cool. (falling boss part)

yes get Eternal Darkness

You definitely should play Prime 1 first, it's such an excellent game.
Also, going back to Prime 1's controls after 3 will seem like a big step back.

Prime 2 is good too, but it kinda was made for fans who wanted more of prime 1, so expect more powerups, more bosses, more backtracking etc.
Prime 2 has some amazing bosses actually..

Playing any FPS with "regular controls" after playing MP3 seems like a big step back :/

Well, if you are going to buy them, you wont need this info... (LOL)

Yeah, you need a GC memory card just to save progress in games. Should be able to pick one up real cheap.

Oh and get a wavebird, wires are overrated.

i played metroid prime 1, 2 and 3, sequentially, and one right after the other.

I've gotta tell you, it was hard forcing me to not play metroid 3 with its wii controls and stuff. But it was worth it.

As for the story, yes, I can say that if you finish the games there is continuity between the games. Besides, I think mp2 has the screw attack, and that's priceless

My suggestion is to play the games in order

It's a great experience. And good luck!
