You don't get the regular "select a game" menu with USB loaders. You need to select a dot-alt. And the default difficulty with USB loaders is Veteran. I decided to just use cIOSCORP and a backup disc. MPT and music games are the only ones I need a disc for anyways. No biggie.

If i were you i would only use that disc to create a savegame with the wanted difficulty and then play from usb. Metroid Prime is THE game where the longer loading times from 3x speed are noticed the most.

Oh right. Why didn't I think that? lol.

I tried creating a savegame with normal difficulty with the disc then playing it via USB and it still changed my savegame to veteran difficulty, this was back when it first came out though, let me know if it works for you that would be an imporvement at least

Wait. You had no savegame, then played from disc, created a savegame on normal difficulty, confirmed normal difficulty in main menu, booted the game from usb, saved again, and then it displays veteran difficulty in the main menu?

Exactly correct, i found NO WAY to play normal difficulty via USB, but it wasnt a big issue for me as the game wasnt that difficult even on veteran

This has been a well known issue.

That might be, for people with the disc. My drive doesn't like DL, so i can't test for myself. If i don't get as much as possible info about this, i can't do anything to get a different difficulty to work.

Im willing to test out w/e i can for you Wiipower, just let me know what you need done/tested and what info you need ill be happy to do what i can

Wow. How do u use those codes? Is it Ocarina?
I'd like to try them with Configurable USB Loader through Ocarina, but how do I check what difficulty I am playing ?

Ok, it worked !
I used it for MP1 in Configurable USB Loader, and then when I pressed left after starting the game, the first monster in Tallon Overworld was doing me only 5 damage, while that was 10 before that.

Are you using Configurable USB Loader ? I know only that, so I'm not sure I could explain you anything if you're using something else.
From Configurable USB Loader it is usually rather easy to use cheats, you just have to ask him to download a test file containing cheats (taken from geckocodes.org), select which ones you want to use from it, convert to it to a gct file (there's a menu to do it), then enable Ocarina before lauching the game.
The only small problem is that in our case, the cheats for selecting the difficulty are not present in the file in geckocodes.org, so you will have to add it yourself.
Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you need it.

But ..at the end...

Is Metroid pryme trilogy working at the end with cfg loader?¿'...

I don´t care PAL or NTFS...For cfg loader there is no problem...

I am using CFG, but as I said - I never used any cheats. Who do I have to ask? I'm sorry, but I really have a hard time to follow you here.
