PS1/2 metal gear 3 on ps3

i have a 40 gb ps3, i tryed to play mg3s on it and it tells me that this ps3 is unable to play ps2 software, does anyone has this problem too

Your PS3 is crippled. 40gig models doesn't have the emotion engine or PS2 emulator to run PS2 games

40gig PS3 got the PS2 emulator/engine taken out of it to cut costs. Sucks to have a 40gig PS3.

I got a 60 gig model and it plays all mah PS2 and PS1 games.

i do have one but it doesn't not work anymore. i guess I'm going to return it once the special edition ps3 with metal gear 4 and the 80 gb comes out

Not quite true. Only Subsistance has compatibility issues, Snake Eater works fine, try to play that one.
