I just ordered a 8gb from a DX(?), $20, of course probably not genuine but good enough for games.

EDIT....This is only from personal experience.....I have not had any problems using these cards but from what I have read some people don`t think these cards are a good idea.

I was about to buy a Photofast adapter with 2x16GB MicroSDHC but I noticed the 32GB ProDuo from Lexar and decided to go with since it cost a little bit less than the Photofast+ 2 MicroSD.

I paid $86 (CAN) at newegg.ca two weeks ago and didn't have a problem with it to date. It is slightly faster (when reading) than my original Sony 16GB ProDuo memstick. Writing seems to be about the same or maybe a little slower. I use it on a PSP 3000 with 5.03 firmware.

$20 wasted.
They always go to dealextreme. That's why you shouldn't even bother with these topics.

Somebody asks for a flash cart recommendation, then runs to dealextreme. One month later they're back here wondering why it doesn't work with firmware updates and everybody has to explain that they bought a fake.

Somebody asks for memory card recommendations, then runs to dealextreme. One month later they're back here wondering why their games are skipping and everybody has to explain that the read time sucks and to buy a better card.

The mentality around here never ceases to amaze me: "okay there's this product that I can buy and it will let me play all the games that exist and are still being produced, download them for free and I can play them as many times as I want. But I'm unwilling to pay more than $20 for it. Or if it's $19 on a decent site when dealextreme has it for fifty cents cheaper, I'm going with dealextreme. I am so poor that I need those fifty cents!"

I bought my 8 GB real sony stick for about 45$ and it has never cause me any problems.
Some idiot I know got a 16 GB fake for 20$ from Dealextreme and guess what? It borked 3 days after he got it.

I swear, some people would do anything to save money.

I've had my Sandisk 2GB for about 5 years.
Still works! I say its a good quality, however i wish i just bought the pro duo memory adapter for SDHC, much cheaper and i have lots of SD cards

I have edited my post. I`m not sure why you think its $20 wasted?, I have used many of these possibly fake cards, never had one single problem. Obviously I don`t keep anything important stored on them and I for sure don`t use them in my camera, tv, etc.. I was only offering a cheap option. Anyone who thinks their not taking a chance with fake or clone stuff should have their head examined, most of the time if its cheap its cheap for a reason, buyer beware!

i always always always read customer reviews of products on dx..... the only decent things i got was wu brand wiimote and cheap playstation 3 wired remote ( wich i think lacks the motion controlls.... but great for all basic button function games) so we can 2player.... and of course things u cant mess up like screen protectors etc.... but they do have alot of good stuff... read customer reviews so you'll know exactly what your in for and watch the stars.

i bought rechargeable wiimote batteries from priceangels... they all sell the same junk.... but it works great. i bought a brand name when i got my wii and it was apparently way past half life right out of the package and i couldnt take it back the charge would only last like 30 min-1hr at first... then after about a month... nuthin! now that was 25 dollars wasted.... best 10 bucks i spent right there! there were many to choose from... but i chose the one with the best stars and reviews.

The problem with fake Memory Sticks is that they often aren't what they say they are. They might say they contain 8gb but use some compression crap to make it seem like its 8gb when its actually 4gb. This can result in a lot of bad sectors, data corruption and eventually loss as well as a severely reduced read/write rate (not good for PSP iso games)
If you want a cheap memory stick get a copuple of microSDs and a CR-5400. Format it on your PC (my PSP wouldn't format mine) and enjoy as much memory as you would like with a read rate equal to the slowest microSD you put in (mine are Class 4 and that puts it just a little less than a normal 1gb sony memory stick)

Wow I'm truly impressed by the comparison of the sandisk vs the licensed sony card of their own making. Are there any more modern tests with the larger cards compared? I'm thinking like the 4, 8 and 16GB Sandisk vs Sony Mark 2 cards as I'd love to read up on it.

I'm intending to get at the least a 4GB here probably soon as I want to dump some of my DVDs on for on the go, plus it seems more games these days due to the slow rate they stuck the UMD unnecessarily at we're getting more common and larger data installs (like GT needing nearly 1GB.)

just stay away from Lexar ones and you're good.
their build quality is terrible! (terrible enough that it is still prone to breaking even if you keep it in the psp).

I recently looked up prices and bought a sony 8gb mark 2.
its price was comparable to any other cards, and mark 2 is supposed to be little faster.
i have a lexar 8 gb, still not broken after being removed and used around in 3 psp

you're luckier than me.
i had 2 lexar pro duos, and had just bad experience with both.
Seriously? I have a Lexar 8GB, and I find it far better than any Sony one.

I've been using a Lexar 16gb for a loooong time and it hasn't broke.
Only problem with Lexar is that you are stuck with FAT32, and you cant format it to FAT, which will run somewhat faster on your PSP. The difference isn't that noticeable unless you're playing those high-graphic games, which then you would see there is a bit more of those fps drops.

Is there a legit store, I can walk into and buy a MicroSD to MS Pro Duo Adapter?...like RadioShack, Best Buy...

You mean a Photofast adapter? No, not as far as I know.

$60 CDN...16gb Lexar Pro Duo.

Been using it for over a year.

No slow downs or corruptions....works great, though I have heard that others have had problems with the Lexar brand; it's kind of a crapshoot
