Ironic how in almost every scene, people say the paid products will be way better than the free stuff until they become obsolete in a week.

what paid products have become obsolete in a week of their release?
(two kind of examples, the psp undiluted platinum modchip, and the vita cobra blackfin)
but it's not the norm.

things like wii, it was a while until we got usb iso loading.
and 3ds, it was a while until we got free piracy.
gateway's cheat functionality (at leas the way i used it) still doesn't really have a 1:1 free alternative
i don't get all the gw hate, i was playing backups for months/a year+? before the non-gw people.

tx is really cheap, cheaper than a game. and you can play many games for free.
unless we get free piracy the same week/month, i don't think many people will regret their purchase.

but of course, if you have to save your pennies up week after week to scrape $40 together to buy the tx, don't buy it

With the way this new tool looks, same week/month looks VERY possible as long as the dev keeps working on it.

I'm still happy with my Switch SX Pro for the fact that I can still use the usb type C adapter and not have to use my phone or computer every time to boot cfw and that is really the only reason I got it was for the usb adapter.

my devices never got bricked. sure it's bad, but i was using my gw for like a year before the bricking code was added/known about, no problem for me...
(i think the bricking code only triggered if you tried to edit the payload, or (sadly) did the hardware test on the card - it didn't happen to many people.

yeah, i agree and i know it looks possible we might get it soon, it only takes 1 leaker, but there are no promises.
on the other hand, tx promises us because we pay them, that's business

(for the record, i didn't order a tx, i'm waiting, but it's because i don't have much time to play games now, i probably would have ordered a tx)

Two things:

1. Each example you mentioned stopped supporting their paid products once free alternatives became available, which is why Gateway gets a lot of hate.
2. It is likely that a free alternative will come out for the Switch much quicker than some of the examples you mentioned because of the universal RCM exploit and because of how fast homebrew development and CFW development have been going.

that's why i like gateway they kept updating.
i remember at first it was just one game to a micro sd card lol.

I'm not sharing this tweet to start another 'hey, developer, release this', or 'can I play downloaded games with this'. I'm just sharing it so other people can be aware of how the scene is moving, and in case the author wants to give a bit more of info. How so?

They would have no way (IN THEORY, YOU NEVER KNOW WITH NINTENDO) of knowing if a game was downloaded from the eshop or installed by this, as long as it works properly. If they can detect this, they can 100% detect SX's method.
