Max wired/wireless speed for Wii U

Not sure why would need the Wii U wired to your network, that is kinda wasting money buying an usb 2.0 to ethernet adapter.
Online games. I can't tell how many times i got disconnected from a match in Splatoon because of the weak Wifi that the Wii U has.
When i went wired i stopped getting disconnected.

Hey question for you, does a Wii U LAN adapter work with the vWii? Does it need to be connected to the back ports or can you connect it to the front ports as well?

Yea it works with it and it needs to be the back USB ports as the vWii can't access the front ones iirc tho i could be wrong as i have never checked.

Fun fact here is the Wii U LAN adapter is litteraly the same as the one for the Wii, as in same model and everything.
only difference is the box it came in said Wii U

Not like he can do much with 30 Mbps, if he has a modded wii u, I don't see him needing an ethernet adapter with the eshop shutting down. He just be wasting money.
NUSSpli
FTP
Online play
Redownloading games purchased on the eShop
Pretendo (when it's ready)

First, the eShop isn't closing down completely, and second, the eShop isn't the start and end of the Wii U's network functionalities.

I don't. It was more a joke cause that other guy told eShop is the only thing needing fast speed... And that dude said that to me while I'm the one behind NUSspli..
Your the guy behind NUSpli? I get this has nothing to do with this thread but your a dang legend my friend.

I don't know much about hardware and hardmod but isn't it possible to replace the wifi card of the Wii U by a more recent one like Wifi 6 or something like this ?

That's an IOS issue. certain cIOSes specifically checked USB0 and USB1, rather than "all USB ports" which on Wii U includes USB2 and USB3. CTGP, Nintendont, and the like have no problem with using GCN controllers plugged into the front ports.

Wifi is capped at around 15 Mbit/s. LAN is capped at around 30 Mbit/s.
So USB 3 is a waste as it doesn't even max out USB 2.0.

In case you want to go the LAN route (which I would recommend any day over the Wii Us extremely weak WiFi - slow speed isn't the only issue you'll encounter) keep in mind that the Wii U supports one chipset only.
Hey! Kind of an old post I'm commenting in, but seeing there might be some more acknowledge out here than in the entire Google (they couldn't answer me this question). I just wanted to ask if the Wii U is actually capped at 30 mb/s while using cabled internet. I'm trying to buy an adapter to get some better connection and found an official Wii adapter so I could use on Wii U. It seems its maximum (since what I've been told) are 70 mb/s, so that should be more than enough for my Wii U. Just wanted to corroborate all this information (if my question can be answered). Many thanks!
