Hacking Mario Kart wii update does not fix semi brick

I have a semi bricked ntsc wii from a pal donkey kong barrel blast. I downloaded a mario kart wii ntsc and played it on my wii but no update?. Why is this? I have never played mario kart before and no update?

It contains the MK Wii Channel, not an update. there's a difference.

That is not a update, more like a download. Think of it like a download such as the internet channel. An Update changes your WII's firmware.

you start the game and then in a menu you can install it, NOT from an update.
fix your semibrick with SSBB

Mario Kart Wii DOES include an update. Atleast the PAL version does.

My semi-bricked wii was fixed by installing the update that came with mario kart.

The reason you're not gettign an update is probably that you have the same firmware version that's on Mario Kart Wii.

I don't know what you're not understanding.

If it didn't fix your Wii then that's it, you're just going to have to wait for a game with a newer firmware version than you bricked you Wii with.

I remembered their was a list of games not made by nintendo that had a update. It was on a forum but i cant find it. I think okami or something made by sega has a update

The update won't activate if you have an update previously installed that is better than the Mario Kart update.

My friends no chipped pal wii installed an update but my chipped pal wii which had the NTSC SSBB update on didn't require it.
