Mario and Luigi RPG 3 problem

Do you know Mr. Wiggler? yeah the worm. After eating that gigantic carrot, he won't fight me. I talked to him then chose the second option, then nothing happens.

What should I do? do i need to finish some quests first?

Try disabling ALL cheats except the piracy check bypass, you wouldn't believe how many problems just disabling the cheats has solved. (keep piracy check one on, don't forget)

I haven't used cheats for this game except for the bypass cheat...what do you think the problem is?

Turns out I'm at the part just after you eat the giant carrot, select first option and you gotta eat a huge pile of carrots and it's damn near impossible D:

Yes, I think what you're missing is straight after eating the large carrot, save, talk to wormer dude and select first option to eat a load of small carrots and then I guess battle, have you done that?

I ate many small carrots but I didn't save my progress yet...is that necessary? or do I need to perfect the small carrots?
