ROM Hack Maplestory DS

Does the old 2 DS dumping trick work? I am in Korea and could pick up the game if that's all it takes. If it's not up in the next week, I'll try to pick it up at my local HomePlus or eMart.

However, I can't imagine it being worth the trouble. I've been seeing advertisements on Cartoon Network over here (my daughter's watching Pokemon at the moment). It's single-player, isn't it? Like, no Marketplace, no updates, nothing to keep you strung along? Without chat functions and a whole load of people to play with, it just seems like the simple platform-and-slash.

Though, admittedly, I do miss said gameplay. Oh, Nexon, why must Global Maple be IP blocked?

why don't you play KMS? and its supposed to have similar gameplay to the PC version with a storyline

Have you seen the horrors of Dissidia? It was over a week (like Maplestory DS), except tons of pictures of people having the game constantly being uploaded, as well as Dissidia not requiring special equipment. One well-known scene said they were uploading it. 2 days later a different group released it and the well-known one uploaded their torrent.

In situations like this it's best to trust no-one. :b

As for the real uploaders, it was done in secret as well. On one Japanese/Korean site a link to an html file was posted. About 20 minute later, I got an idea, and renamed the .html to .torrent and voila.

A way to prove you have it early without any risk would be to generate an MD5 hash of the unpatched copy, and then when the actual dump is released and widespread we can generate it's MD5, and if they match it's the same thing and you'll have proved you had it early (since the dump posted on popular rom sites will also be the unpatched one).

Download this free program (it's a very small download and needs no install), run it, click the button with the ellipses (three periods), select the rom, and then wait a few minutes as it reads it all and does the math to generate a hash. When it's done copy the hash (which will be a long string like 470b32dbedce3a129e90b30f25e29507) and post it here.

If, when the actual dump is released, it has the same hash, then it's the exact same rom file and you'll be proven right. If it's a mismatch, however, then what you have is a fake (or bad dump), one way or another.

This costs you no money, takes barely any time, and has no personal info associated with it.

It's a bit ironic how impatient people get over games that don't get leaked, but once they finally get leaked the ones that could help spread it are selfish with it :b

Not a complaint, it's just funny how the roles reverse! I'm google searching but it doesn't look like I'll find anything as it's probably too soon for an index! Searching the korean name "메이플스토리 DS" might help anybody else trying though.

me too well the wake up thing i also noticed this is a very popular thread because everyone is posting like every 5 minutes or 1 minute XD
(people must like maplestory these days)
