And I'm gonna need a MicroSD too right? What is that, like an SD card but smaller? I'm gonna go shopping at my locl PX/BX and hope they have cheap stuff there

Yes, SD cards come in three sizes: regular, miniSD, and microSD. So the microSD is much smaller than a standard SD card (about the size of your fingernail).

Ok I just got my CycloDS Evolution in the mail today. It was processed July 23 and I got it July 25th, that's 2 days. That's fast.

Anyways, what's the next step?
I assume it's gettint the latest software/firmware for the CycloDS Evo? I have to go to work now, I'll be back around 12 midnight EST time.

I'm also going to assume that in order to patch it, I'll have to put the file on the MicroSD and put it in the CycloDS Evo, since there's nothing that came with the CycloDS Evo that plugs it into the computer. It only came with a MicroSD USB adapter

Cyclo is one of the better updatable cards, in my opinion. The firmware is stored on the actual Cart as opposed to the microSD. You put the Update file (found in the zips you can find on this site, or the beta's available from the official cyclo forums) in the root of your card, not matter what you have on there, and when you boot the card, it says "Press A to update to firmware X.XXx" you hit it, it updates everything, then deletes the Update file from the microSD card. It works wonders! As well, because the firmware is permanently stored on the cart, you can put in MicroSD cards from other flash carts, and play the games from them. (that is, if you know others with flash carts)

You can get commercial roms (roms licenced by Nintendo) from websites, but in the rules you are not aloud to give those websites. And, though I believe very few people do here, you're supposed to buy the game and then "back it up" with the flash card. So, what you should do if you do want commercial roms is search NDS roms on google.

Of all the homebrew I've downloaded (I've got my CycloDS, but not my microSD), Meteora seems the most impressive. And no, it's not a videogame based on the crappy Linkin Park album.

Also, NC for the win!
