QUOTE said:
Ben Jacobs, 20, was having a boozy night with friends when he was bashed, leaving him with a crushed eye socket, fractures to his skull and bleeding on the brain.

Yesterday, he tried to piece together the puzzle of his ordeal while recovering in Geelong Hospital.

"If people want to fight they should use the outlets available like martial arts and kickboxing, not people's faces," he said.

"I want the person to know that at the end of the day they've got their sight.

"I don't have mine."

Mr Jacobs said he spent Saturday afternoon and evening drinking with a group of mates at a house in Corio.

None of his friends can recall the attack because they had been drinking heavily, he said.

"My memory is blank; all I remember is going out to have a good time," Mr Jacobs said.

"Now I've lost my sight in one eye; just like that."

His mum, Tracy Shaw, was first faced with the possibility of a vicious attack when her son's close friends said they overheard two people bragging about it.

"We've heard a few different things and we've been told a few different things," Mrs Shaw said.

"My daughter heard that they used a towel rack which was bent at the end to hit him and also metal cricket stumps.

"She found the towel rack behind the milk bar and handed it into the police but she couldn't find the cricket stumps."

Mrs Shaw said the group of friends had been drinking all Saturday afternoon and continued into the evening.

"He'd been drinking with his friends; they were all drinking," she said.

"They had a couple of bottles of Jim Beam but I'm not sure how much of that they drank."

His injuries were so severe that Mrs Shaw did not recognise her son when she found him covered in blood on the lounge in their Corio home after the early Sunday morning attack.

"I was looking, and looking, and looking wondering who was asleep on the lounge," Mrs Shaw said. "It wasn't until I was right up close that I realised it was Ben.

"His face was covered in blood, it was bruised and swollen.

"I just screamed out to my husband that Ben had been bashed.

"They hit him in the head and face and we don't know why.

"It all happened less than 500m from our home and Ben can't even remember being attacked or coming home or even how he got home."

Police are investigating the attack.

a few jim beans = a big night to the point you don't remember getting the shit beating out of you. holes everywhere though, perhaps he was eyeshotting those jim beans

sounds freaky to me, heck he can't even remember a SINGLE thing ?!

he must have drank so much that he was actually hallucinating.

it's a common thing to do over here drink yourself stupid every sat night than his or should i say the booze has said something to someone he wasn't supposed to say prob being racist or hitting on their g/f and that's what happens and how 95% of fights are started here. that's what he gets for going BLIND.

i bet i know what's happened him and his mates have been a little too loud for the neighbors to handle and 1 of them has come out and told them to keep it down. his told him to fuck off and the neighbor has said right that's the last straw and let him have it

our clubs, pubs even the neighborhoods are usually full of idiots like this on a sat night. their always in groups and always loud, obnoxious and shitfaced and you simply do not want to be anywhere near them. i'm fortunate enough not to live next door to any of them

ive awaken after a drug filled night to some problems. once i had a pain in my forehead when i woke up. i looked in the mirror and i had a little ring on my forehead. turns out my cousin smacked me with a little pipe and left a mark. i also got into a rumble with my brother one time that i did not remember. just woke up going owwww, my neck hurts. yeah cause i got punched in it.

it takes a lot of booze for that to happen, but it happens, and when you are living that kind of lifestyle, its fun until the shit hits the fan, like this guy.

i also got arrested for something i don't remember doing as well. it was weird, i was in the hospital and the cops came and said "did you do this?" i said, what the hell? no. they said you are under arrest and cuffed me to the hospital bed! that sucked!

I'd buy the 3DS even when I had only one eye. I care more about the games than the effect.

Oh and drinking more than you should is not very clever or cool.

I pity the guy... although he could have probably avoided this outcome if he had not been drunk. For all he knows, he could have done that to himself.

i still reckon his gotten into a fight with the neighbors it happens here all the time a few weeks ago in the sub-division across the road there was a LOUD party going on and you could see the drunks hanging around out the front than there was a big brawl the cops came and everyone ran!

Also, I genuinely don't know why people choose to drink too much in order to classify as "having a good time". It's just stupid.

"Hey, guys! I drink so much that I can't walk in a straight line and I will most likely throw up over someone! I'm cool!"

I've had this thing where I was on my bed using my phone (HTC EVO) and then when I woke up. I found my self in front of my phone with the case off, battery cover off and the battery pulled off AND still plugged to the charger.

When I turned it on I noticed that a new app was installed (some sort of anti-virus/backup tool).

I have no recall of any of that and I don't even drink (I was tired though).

Imagine what alcohol does now.

hmm... I guess you could say I was sleep-nerding?
