Not exactly, there is no code to be entered. When you open eshop it automatically checks to see if you are eligible to download the game and notifies you if you are.
All of the UK Mario Kart Bundles have a Eshop Code to redeem inside.

Uhhh, my MK bundle came with a code.
Yep, the Mario on the box bundle have a code inside, can't say for US/CA and other countries.

Is this the guy who wrote to the frame buffer amd displayed the little gif thing?? Apparently it's nowhere near what we call an exploit.

This Switch 2 Stock account is the same guy that would post every DM he gets as though it were some kind of leak without looking into it further, This thing is definitely fake, It would make zero sense for it to require a specific game if it executes before the secure boot process

Yeah I'd bet money on this being fake. Their claims contradict one another on multiple occasions and they have zero prior history in this scene.

It was already discussed in the major thread, but I am not sure how legitimate this notification is because:
  • Mario Kart World being required for the vulnerability as a Non-Shovelware Game (like CubicNinja) and for something that is meant to execute code before Boot is kinda weird
  • Referring to the latest FW version rather than a range if previous ones are affected. I doubt it just appeared on the last version, through some people have been coping that it may be related to microSD Express.

I been asking if they can give more details on whenever this "context" was actually explicitly mentioned by the source but so far there was no response.
Ofc there is the possibility that this notification is made up because the same account posts referral links on purchasing said products. This could well be a FOMO attempt to get people into buying a Nintendo Switch 2 or Mario Kart World through their referral links.
It's likely they wouldn't have been able to test it on any other FW since you need to update to use the code and most people who are interested in Mario Kart World will have gotten the bundle due to cost.
Not that I'm saying this is real, it probably isn't. But that's a weak argument.
It seems pretty obviously fake, considering Nintendo don't even have a Switch 2 bug bounty yet.

It's a seller account driving traffic to his twitter, which is totally original. His only reply was "Apologies, the source wants to remain anonymous."

Sellers and scalpers don't have inside information. I wish they would just delete these threads because all it's doing is helping him.

Canada with an Amazon purchase here, can confirm my Mario kart world came as a little scratch off card inside the packaging for the e-shop code and download. In case anyone was wondering.

After enjoying NSO for one week with the free trial, I sadly put my Switch 2 in airplane mode today waiting for the day there's an exploit found. I was expecting to wait a year, maybe two. Maybe sooner?! Fingers crossed.

There's two Switch 2 Mario Kart bundles. The bundle where it has the Mario Kart artwork on the bottom of the box is the one that downloads the game as soon as someone goes to the eShop, then there's the box with the circular white Mario Kart sticker at the top of the box. That one comes with a little card with a code to redeem in the eShop. No explanation why Nintendo did it this way but one theory is that Nintendo underestimated the demand for the Mario Kart bundle and quickly printed codes and stuck a sticker on the box.

True. I had one with an eshop code.

Ah weird mine wasnt a scratch off
Was yours also bought through Amazon Canada? I wonder if there's different batches / production runs of the SW2 bundle floating around in the same warehouse, interesting that the way the bundled game is being delivered is different.

In the US there were two SKUs, I ended up with both. I had one from Bestbuy, which had Mario Kart in the design of the box (pictured left) and the other from Walmart that had a sticker on the box (pictured right).

The one with MKW as apart of the design of the box didn't have a code and I just needed to connect to eShop to start the download and the one with the sticker had a code in the box.

I don't believe it was retailer specific either as I heard reports of people getting the sticker variant from Bestbuy as well.
