ok i think i got this running on dsXL, using that file as is, removing the voice folder

i had to delete all my games first for it to load, i got stuck on that loading screen all the time

so where can i put the games? in any folder by itself?

and does moonshell have a battery life icon?

Yes - games can be put into any folder - although ideally you should have them in a single folder from the 'root' - I believe Moonshell can have trouble with long folder paths

No

Oh... can you also give a little more info about the card you're using (ak2.1/rpg/2i ??). It might be a certain combination MAY cause more problems than others (I can only test ak2i on either DSLite or DSi)

2egac2c.jpg

it seems to get stuck when it does that quick check initiated part

checking for duplicate clsuters and fragments, and it just hangs on that screen

how do i disable that checking part in the ini file?

using 2i card on dsXL hw:81 svn:824 firmware of the dsXL is 1.4U

how to soft reboot to go back to main menu

akaio = LR AB + down i know that

just i hate having to take out the microcard, put in computer/2i card back and forth, wears out springs? is where another way lol to prevent wear and tear?
wifi method?

There's an option in /moonshl2/moonshl2.ini called
AlwaysDisabledCheckDisk=0
change it to
AlwaysDisabledCheckDisk=1
will disable the disk check, however I've had that problem when I've installed over an existing installation in the past

Usually 'backup' / 'format' / 'reinstall' does the job for me (when copying back the files I usually also do '/moonshel2/' folder first seperately - then copy everything else back)

> Thanks for the 2i info - for a moment I though you may've had a dodgy 2.1

> As for soft reboot - don't think there IS one for Moonshell, but if you're running commercial ROMS it 'should' be AKAIO combinations to soft reset (I don't use that so not 100% sure) unless Xenon++ inilink bypasses that function

As for your last question. No .... not that I'm aware of, mind you I've had my ak2i for ~ 1year with no problems (yet)

kewl i try that edit, also i was playing super mario bro, i died, and the screen turned black, had to power off/on

i guess playing NON commercial roms always has problems one way or another, battery on this dsXL is pretty good, been messing with it for 2 hours and the bar is still FULL!

it also crashes wihen i tried to play a small sample ts.xvid file

im new to the DS scene, is it normal for the left dpad to be clicky and noisy? did i get a bad unit? it feels loose when i tap it

Thank you, it works!

Is there any way to hide these folders from moonshell?

Also most plugins just launch emulator and not open file. I guess that is impossible to make, but it would be cool to make it like NES plugin, where you launch game with moonshell.

Thanks for the info Xenon++.... Oh & any luck making a 'diff' for 2.1Stable yet (I know you're busy on other projects at the moment) ?? but I would really like to get the splash.ani fault 'fixed'

Seems like a clean install of 'MAIOv3' & Moonshell will remember your 'history' ([select] > App launch) BUT if you select the 'DSi Screen capture' option Moonshell will now fail to remember anything afterwards EVEN IF YOU SWITCH OFF DSi Screen Capture

However if you have just the Moonshell2.1Stable installed WITHOUT Xenon++ Rom Running or my Splash.ani frig (ie MAIO v3 without ROM support) - the 'history' function works fine even with the DSi capture switched on or off

My guess... I think it's a combination of Xenon++ '2.09fix' (reload.dat and overlay.dll) & my 'frig' that's causing the problem - because they're for 2.09 Moonshell and the DSi capture is a 2.1 feature - there's some confusion occuring
My fix is for 2.10b9 not 2.09. 2.09 fix is done by normmatt

I might or might not investigate 2.10beta9... actually I did not test my fix at all.

Currently there won't 2.10stable fix.
Should I make ndslink.nds?

@xenon++

where can i get yourl fix, for 2.10 beta 9 . cant seem to find it, or maybe im just lazy to read 8 page topic. thank you

There's a couple of ways to hide files/folder in Moonshell

1) In /moonshl2/hidepath.ini - just add the folder you wish to hide e.g '/data' to hide a folder called 'data'
2) Using your pc (If using Windows) - right click on the file/folder you want 'hidden', select properties and 'tick' Hidden' attribute, then [OK]
As long as you have 'hidden' ticked in Moonshell's options - you won't see those files/folders

As for the plugin - yes you're right - most plugins are in fact the 'normal' emulator file (e.g. 'JEnesisDS.nds') just renamed.
Some people HAVE created one or 2 'autoload' emulators - TunaVids and also a SNEmulDS (0.5) that will auto run games, but they are far & few between

@ dnniwa485: you didn't need to look through 7 pages - there's a link in post #4 on the first page

Oopss sorry that was my mistyping - I had MEANT to type 2.1b9 & not 2.09
facepalmua8.gif
, & as for the NDSLink method - it's reallly up to you, but the reason I like this setup on MAIO is that you don't have to keep remembering to run the 'bat' file each time you add a game to create the 'links' (unless you've figured out a way to do it automatically whille on the DS - I haven't really looked at NDSLink for quite a while)

It's a shame about no 2.1Stable fix (I guess it's just another modifed overlay/reload combo) - but I guess that's because noone figured out how Moonlight has done the re-encryption on that version yet.
Guess we'll have to wait & see if Normmatt ever makes a new nds.akaio.nds (or something similar) 2.1Stable workaround

lol on beta version.. the splash.ani has a same version on 2.09's splash.ani

but when i try to replace it with other version.. it hangs

ill test it for a while ... but so far i used it.. its really good.. (using my cousins R4 original) i hope i wont get random DLDI hiccups on this version

Yep - it's a known 'bug' to get 2.1Stable to 'autoload'/'bootup' and run ROMs - if you just want autoboot & 2.1Stable with no ROM support then there is a way to have a custom splash

Ah, I think I need to alert you about this:

With the 2.10 child update, 'back to firmware' doesn't work anymore (either akaio.nds or RPGS.nds).

the xenon++'s fix can be done via replacing the overlay.dll only. the .dat file is kinda different though (seeing the xenon++'s credits on startup, if your using the directboot one, else if you use the non directboot one, wheter you replace the reload.dat you will just see a normal notification) the nds file has same hash came with the beta, so replacing wont do much on it.

anyway according to my test, the dldi hiccups is still encountered on beta9,
frown.gif
so again ill stick again with 2.05, not worth of the risk that i had on 2.10b9

Anyway don't forget to fix disk driver to avoid last cluster corruption bug!

are you talking about the warning Moonlight put up about using 16Gb SDHC cards on Acekards/CycloDS ~8th Feb 2010 ???
I thought that only referred to the 2.1 beta versions not the earlier 2.0x versions

@ dnniwa485: FYI - There is no difference between the normal 2.1b9 reload.dat and the one with 'Xenon++' displayed.
They are in fact the same ones - except I changed the text in it (using a Hex editor - which is about as far as I know about file hacking, after all I'm no programmer) as I thought it'll look better showing "Moonshell v2.1 Stable (Xenon++ fix) booting" instead of "MoonShell.Ver 2.10 beta9 for translation.Jan 27 2010 06:09:54 GMT+09:00.Jan 27 2010 booting"

All versions earlier than 2.10finalbeta2 have this bug. I have fixed R4MoonShell (which doesn't have anything to do with ak though).

Ouch... I best update the Moonshell changelog then & add a link to your patch
