Hacking m3sakura is almost here!

Just wait for the m3 team to hack the sakura teams firmware into playing roms and release the us/eur versions, it won't be to long a wait.

We have a rough idea of how to hack the region lock but by the time we would finish it would be released anyway, and we don't even know if it would have worked if we did hack it. So just sit back and watch the drama and chaos that the sakura team have made.

I say it could work for r4 but you would have to to do a lot of bloody work and even then i doubt most of the features would work. I don't think it will ever happen.

ok i have jp firmware booting on eng carts, but it cannot load anything (homebrew,roms,gba). It can only play music/video/images. i'm still looking at it

Did you download it from gbalpha? If not try the download from their, it has the ability to play ds roms homebrew and other files (mp3 etc).

i have the one from handheldsources (filename M3Sakura_Ver111_JPN.zip and md5 1551fa985cd6b5b81045eb9bca50a07c). I found a function in the asm that seems to be a language check but i'm not very sure what to patch it to yet.

If you hav a japanese real and want firmware that runs everything it supposed to ie, ds roms, gba roms (expansion pack) mp3, jpeg, bmp, png, txt. Then download this firmware;

The one from the official sakura site doesn't let you run ds roms.

i need someone with a japanese cart to run that code so i know what the correct language id is for japanese carts. that function looks like it gets the region code from the hardware. anyways, im going to bed and will check it tomorrow
