Hacking M3i Zero - sporadic booting on DSi

So,

I have had my M3i Zero for about a year.

I have noticed that on my DSi LL, the M3iZ always boots up the first time, but if I power the console off and on again, it will not boot up again after this (it gives the error message).

Then I have to leave the console for a while, and then it boots fine again first time.

It is giving me the crap-shits.

It alw
ays boots up on my DS Lite. But why not always on my DSi LL?

Has anyone else has a similar problem?

EDIT -- never mind - I did the paper trick and it seems to work all the time now.
