Hacking M3DS Real 4.2 Firmware not working

I had a version 3.? firmware for my m3ds real then decided to update it today and was disappointed when it would not go past the Loading... screen at the beginning before the menu pops up

Format the card with panasonics sd formatter, then reload on the system software and put put everything back on. This happens sometimes when jst replacing the system file.
